Good luck getting your Bachelor degree on 28 July!! I got mine last July... Now I finished 1st year of Master. Dont know if I'm going to be able 2 finish 2nd year!! I was advised a year ago to just forget about school & go be with my husband (at the moment fiancee), but wanted to at least get my Bachelor. I'm a little geek!! haha hoho. Depending on how short or long this process will be I will see about my masters.

My hubby is coming this August for our 2nd year anniversary. He usually comes at 3-4 months too although we are on different continenets!! He is such a sweetheart!! Even though is expensive & I say " Stay home, is ok... is too expensive" he still wants to come. (L)

Maria when you're bored or sad post here... You'll feel better!! Take care.

you're fortunate to be able to get together and celebrate your anniversary. I wish I could go fly to my husband in Holland and have dinner and celebrate our 2nd anniversary July 28, but I have the job as well as saving up for a plane ticket and other immigration costs to attend the future consular interview (which I want to attend no matter what) help Geert with any other moving arrangements, it's all annoyingly expensive meh. We'll have to do the same thing as last year (cook a meal and eat together by webcam and watch a movie together on computer heh) absence makes the heart grow fonder, maybe our third wedding anniversary will finally be spent in each others arms =P. They say third time's a charm :star:

Yes it has made time apart a lot easier with computer/internet contact, but online is how me and my husband originally met in the beginning so we've had to be very creative to make our long distant relationship work (patience is key also), I miss being with him, but I know that we'll eventually be together forever and I hold onto that. We also play games online, watch movies together or shows and talk everyday on skype as well as a few phone calls here and there when I'm on break at work. I think our creativity has done wonders for our relationship :star: , sometimes we'll even write letters or send cards through snail mail for important holidays or just for fun. When either of us go out somewhere special we'll take pictures sometimes video and share them with each other. I took some pictures of the new garden I did and showed Geert as well as a pet fish he had gotten me for valentines day~ I look forward to him coming here and helping me next year plant a new summer garden =).

Thats neat that your first meeting was on 08/08/08.

Mine and Geerts anniversary as a dating couple had been on 07/07/07 and it was actually on 07/07/08 was the first anniversary and we went to my favorite resturant to celebrate (Geert had been visiting me here in u.s. for the summer) anyways after dinner/during desert he proposed marriage to me in the resturant, the ring was a beautiful ruby heart cut stone with diamonds and a white gold band, it was a really special moment for us (L) I said yes of course :P ,after dinner we went to the movie theatre to see Wall-E which was a really cute movie and kinda perfect for the occasion imo. I feel really fortunate to have met Geert despite even being on different continents lol it was a stroke of luck even fated we'd like to think <3.

I'm back!! My brother bugged me.. wanted to use PC so couldnt finish previous post the way I wanted! Our engagement was magical, midnite with full moon on the beautiful emerald bridge. Couldnt get more romantic than that in my opinion!! Felt like we were writing history, our own history!! Felt time freezing. "The bridge" was perfect place for us because our love is like a bridge across a huge ocean, between two continents!! :luv:

Awww cute stories everyone... I'll never forget the way my huband proposed to mee. We were in the middle of the lake on a little boat and I was looking around all nervous then I turned around and he has this little paper out and he wrote a poem, and it all rhymed and was about our relationship. And at the end of it it said " But I have just one last question "Lana will you marry mee" awww it was sooo cutee (my names Lana btw lol) And I was like yes and he has a ring with him and everything. I was like what if we fell in the water the ring would have gotten wet! lol

Anyways.........I'm leaving on Wenesday the 7th to October 7th to visit him in Canada. I'm really happy and excited to see him. I'm really nervous about customs, but I do have a lot paperwork with me to prove ties to home. I have faith everything will be okay though. I will defintly tell all of you about my adventure at the airport!! OooO and HaPpY 4th Of JuLyY ! :star:

Definitely prep for NVC ahead of time so you're ready to zoom through it when it's your time.

Thanks Sachinky!! I've been preparing for the NVC stage.....I have a question maybe you know the answer though....I just wanted to make sure on this, I'm using my parents as co-sponsors/ or joint sponsors, we all live in the same household because I don't make enough. Can I use both my parents? because my dad alone won't be enough (its almost enough) My parent file their taxes jointly , I fill out a I864 for myself and I864A for each of my parents? or one for both?

Thanks!

Both parents will fill out a I-864A each since both their incomes/assets are being combined and they are members of your household.

You, as the USC petitioner, will file a I-864, regardless of income.

Read the instructions thoroughly. They are quite helpful.

The I-864 made me want to slit my throat a few months ago so get started on that early.

Get the tax forms, employment letter etc. sorted.

May 2010 CR-1/IR-1 Filers Thread

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:4-7)
