I'M VERY CURIOUS TO SEE WHO WILL BE THE 1ST APPROVED OF ALL PPL HERE!!

I already decided not to worry because if I think too much I want to receive NOA 2 tomorrow!! HUMAN NATURE, haha... Instead I said I will enjoy my family to the max, summer vacation, honeymoon with hubby in July-August & hopefully in fall things will turn out fine.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! I WILL UPDATE YOU ON MY CASE & I WILL CHECK THIS SITE FOR YOUR UPDATES... TAKE CARE

Yes, enjoy your summer to the max, but don't forget to prepare NVC paperwork too so you won't feel rushed or stressed when you get that long awaited NOA2!!

I'm also looking forward to who gets the first NOA2 will probably be some of the people who filed earlier in May I'm sure. I've been soo busy with a new job that the days seem to be going by nicely for me and so I haven't thought too much about the NOA2, I'm glad because it'd drive me crazy if I did heh.

Have a great summer~

Proof of sponsor’s employment (ex: can be an employment letter)

My husband is unemployed... I mean he is working togheter with some ppl to form a business, but curently he doesnt have a job at a company. Will that be a problem?

Doesn anyone have a clue? Financially he is very ok,... we dont need no joint sponsor!

If he's financially ok do you have documental proof of this? Like tax returns or pay stubs from previous employment etc., he can also show proof of "financial assets" if that is needed to make the minimum requirement. Also does he have any documents showing that he is starting a business and will be making a new income? He has to be able to support you based on the household size and 125% above the poverty level, if he doesn't meet that requirement you should get a joint sponsor.

I was unemployed, but just started a job (literally my first job ever thats taxable) this summer and still need a joint sponsor to fully cover the AOS and ya never know sometimes it better to have a joint sponsor, but situations are different for everyone so it depends how much your husband makes and if that income is "stable" so that you wouldn't be deemed a public charge if he couldn't support you.

We have NOA1, the code on it doesn't work. He has phoned them and they say they can be a delay. But now I'm REALLY worried as people who applied after us have had their aplication touched, ie. theirs is cedrtainly on computer. What is going on? We app[lied mid May! I'm really fed up, I KNEW they'd lose our application!

If they said on the phone that your in the system, but it doesn't show up on the computer when you go to check your case status I wouldn't worry too much because if your "in the system" that means your being processed for sure, it sucks if you can't get the updates through the USCIS website, but at least you'd know your Application is not "lost" as well as you mentioned you have the NOA1 thats proof that they received your application. Hang in there.

Also I posted a guide on how to sign up for case status updates

at USCIS earlier in this thread, if you feel inclined to do so go check it out maybe you didn't sign up correctly, just keep trying from what some people posted it can take 30 days for some applications to see it on case updates and you said you didn't file till mid-may so keep trying. Hang in there and don't give up~

Hi Jen and Geert,

Congrats on your new job!! Time will fly by so fast if you're working. As far as it concerns me I'm amazed how time goes by for me, already I think I would like it to slow down a little bit. I have exams now & never seem to have enough time, lol!! But my point was that in general my life without my better half is hard, but I cant complain that time is moving too slow for me. IS MOVING TOO FAST!! When I was younger the days seem longer... now, nop not so much! :( But what I adore is that when I'm with my husband I live life in a different pace, the day seems longer & meaningful because I'm happy & we have fun activities.

OF COURSE I WILL PREPARE FOR NVC!! We should all be prepared so when our time comes we take by storm NVC. Just kidding!! Anyway I was looking at the statistics & USCIS really need to get things going with March filers. Remaining March filers are equal with April + May combined!! I dont know when they will speed up!! HOPE SOON.

Regarding the financial situation of my husband, I talked to him this morning on Skype & I dont think we will have problems. He calmed me down! He got laid off in DEC, but was paid until end of March (so he has paystubs 'til March & then unemployement benefits). Was working in a very good bank also before getting laid off was promoted... but with the financial crisis & everything banks were cutting costs so the ppl with higher income were the 1st to be kicked out! I still remember the day he told me what happened, he was like a poor, wet abandoned puppy... But anyway he was complaining for long about the hostile work environment, they were giving him huge workloads that didnt even belong to him, they stressed him out to the max, etc... He wouldnt have lasted long there, he was talking many times about quitting!

He has savings & he invests in the stock exchange & actually is pretty good with that! He would even like to work in that area of expertise! So his well above 125% poverty level, but he is not employed. He didnt search yet!! Is not in such a critical situation he really needs a job. Now he's doing some self training before he comes visit me again to improve his skills & in fall he might form a company with some ppl. So, he might get letter of employement from them... If that doesnt work he is gonna search for a job!

SORRY FOR YOUR MODEM. When is thunderstorm is advisable to turn off computer! I never turn it off either, maybe next time I will. haha!

Take care! (F)

Well they ask for the last 3 years of tax returns if you quit your job in 2009 you should have at least 1-2 years that you could show them, but I think you could also show paystubs if you filed for any unemployement benefits like if your looking for a new job. I'm not by far the authority on this I'm just giving you some tips on what I've researched myself. Also your co-sponsors along with you will need to show their recent 3 years tax returns and w-2's very important because your sponsors have to show that they can support your hubby since you can't.

My situation is that before I didn't have a job (was full time college student out of high school) and I'll have to get a letter showing that I haven't had to file income tax, I'm currently living with my mother and she'll be my co-sponsor to help me and hubby. Since I started the new job that will help too, but I won't be able to show any income tax returns as I started in the middle of this year, but I "can" show them that I have started a new job etc. to show them that I'm not doing nothing I suppose it looks better, and co-sponsor should make it solid.

Hope this helps some~

Best wishes,

Jen and Geert :star:

Well they ask for the last 3 years of tax returns

I thought I saw somewhere on one of the US websites that they only require the last year of taxes and don't require the letter from employer or pay stubs anymore unless you are worried about qualifying or they request it. If such is the case I could send in the shorter I-864ez form. If I need last three years then I have my ex-wife on one tax year so I would have to send in regular I-864.

I never turn it off either, maybe next time I will. haha!

Take care! (F)

Thank you this year including the job has been full of good opprotunities for me and I hope it'll continue to be, I have a lot of things to be greatful for. :star:

I hope that when I am with hubby the day's will feel longer because when we'd visit each other those day's went by so fast and then we'd be leaving again, I look forward when to we can spend the rest of our lives together~.

We should totally take the NVC proccess by storm! Being prepared should allow us to be processed in a less delayed manner figuratively speaking lol, so by all means lets be ready for the paperwork battle and win =).

That's unfortunate that your hubby had a layoff from work hopefully things with his new business idea will take off well, I don't know if savings are considered income as far as the affidavt of support rules go, if the immigration officials are not satisfied with it you might get an RFE or asked to get a joint sponsor etc. , if you can just try to have a back up plan if things go opposite of how you want them too, try to find someone who would be willing to sponsor "just in case" I don't want to worry you, but try to be prepared for "everything" it's your choice I hope it will all work out for you good luck~!

Well technically they say the most recent year, but I have read so many stories where they asked for more(the 3 most recent tax years) and I'm saying this so that you'll be the best prepared and not end up being asked for more and you not having them at an interview for example would be stressful I'm sure, now if you don't have the 3 most recent because you didn't work consecutively that's a different story, but if you have it I highly recomend that you ask for them to be mailed to ya if you don't already have them, I read they prefer the income tax transcripts rather then the ones you fill out, but either is fine if you don't have a choice. Hope this better explains why I said 3 years instead of 1.

This seems to be that consulates ask for more from what I read, it's better to be over prepared then under prepared so that you wont' have to worry when they ask/need something from you and you'll have it ready!

Haven't gotten any touches yet it does make me anxious, but it's possible that I dont' get any it says last date updated 5/13/10 they did receive it on the 11th so that could be considered a touch I suppose, but I didn't put it in sig b/c I wasn't sure.

Anyways for anyone who didn't know igor's list is nice to look at since it's nice to see your number queue go up or down I should say our's is currently at #199, it's not 100% accurate, it's only as accurate as people who complete their timelines keeping them up-to-date is important~ so make sure you all entered your NOA 1 dates =).

Igor's List

So something a little off topic what's some of the first things you plan to do with your Significant other once immigrating to the USA?

For me I'd like to throw him a small welcoming party with family and of course help him settle in.
