How to retrieve tax filings from abroad?

Hi there,

even though my wife was a student, she filed for taxes a couple of years ago since she had a part time job. Now, she lives in Italy with me. How can she retrieve her tax filings from here? Any way?

Also, we're using her grandma as joint sponsor for the I864. Anything particulare she needs to do?

12/07/2009 - I-130 and supporting documents sent to USCIS office in Rome

12/16/2009 - USCIS office received the form

02/16/2010 - NOA1

02/22/2010 - I-130 Approved

05/27/2010 - DS-230 sent

07/19/2010 - Medical exam in Napoli

07/20/2010 - Interview

get an efax service with usa 800 number.

call IRS to have tax transcripts sent via fax.

the 800 # can be set to email anything received.

ya - USC spouse needs to file complete I-864, and grandma needs to file complete I-864 as well.

ps - IF the Embassy in Rome has IRS Liason office there, they MAY be able to pull those up for her, right then and there. MAYVE. Certainly worth a visit, yes? (Don't know squat about Naples, alas)

Thanks! Also... there is no need to send the ds-230 noow and the statement later right? we can fax both of them when ready right?

You can fax DS-230 into the Embassy? WOW - you are lucky !! Most hand-carry or postal mail it.

Ummmmmmmmm not quite guys.

I've been using 800 efax lines for over 10 years and think it's one of the greatest invention of all time. Never had a problem.

I used it for IRS to fax transcripts for my K3 in 2008.

That is until about a month ago when the IRS asked if the 800 # I gave was an efax #. I said YEP and they said NOPE we can no longer

fax to efax lines due to privacy issue and some documents have gotten lost while being forwarded to the wrong emailbox.

Evidently a few people have caused all of us to suffer by not knowing how to use efax the right way.

Your solution is to use a local efax #. Go to google search local efax #. Give that local number to the IRS.

They won't even know it's an efax # but if asked if it's an efax line tell them NO.

Thank God for local efax lines or I would have had to fly to the U.S. just to receive a fax.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.
