I have been looking also. (If CSC would ever send my packet NVC, it would be a little easier to get started) I have an idea of what I want now its just finding it. :P

Ohio Jen - You DEFINITELY need to go here:

http://bridalandformalinc.com/

People come from all the USA to buy here. Vogue regularly features it. My friend got a Vera Wang dress (orig. $5K) for $4000 I think. They mark down all dresses & have TONS!

I bought mine there, the only day I ever looked, off the rack for 30% off. It's gorgeous & very unique & SO me!

JenT-

You can always come down & meet me for some fizz before you go to Bridal & Formal.

I've seen several I am considering at Alfred Angelo's site . :)

My gown is from Alfred Angelo...

love it!

Ohh and I also looked at Nordstroms and found some lovely dresses. Some were considered wedding but thers were mid to long simple gowns.

This is were I would have bought mine if a huge deal did not come up!

Look at the online catalogue

I really like the Alfred Angelo site too... a friend of mine just bought her gown at Nordstrom's... they do have more of a selection than I thought.

Oh, and here I thought this would be relatively simple..

I went to Alfred Angelo, had already picked the dress of my dreams, had time to spare so popped into David's Bridal and started trying on similar dresses.

The assistant suggested I try another style on to see how my more than ample boobage(!) looked in it and I absolutely fell in love with it.

Ended up going back to Alfred Angelo, cancelling my dress and got the one at David's $100 cheaper.. and it was in stock, which is a great benefit if you don't have much time.

I found David's Bridal much more helpful than Alfred Angelo's staff too.

Oh and another thing..

The staff at Alfred Angelo asked where I was getting my dress, I said David's Bridal, she got all shitty with me and said well I hope you know they won't give you the dress you tried on, it'll be a second hand one.

It wasn't! Sour cow just saw her commission disappear!

Hi,

I did get my dress at E-bay. It an onlinestore. The dress it excellent, as if you would have purchaed it in a official gownshop.

Only the prices are somewhat 5 times less.

This is the link, I loved it. : http://stores.ebay.com/Cinderellas-Bridal-Shop

Everything has been delivered to me by DHL. It took about 5 weeks and they all make it for you in you own measurements.

Hope this is useful for you. Have a great time exploring what you want.

I saw that dress... LOVE IT!! In fact, that's the one I would have chosen if this were my first wedding and I wanted any sort of train (ceremony is not going to be long, or formal).

What a gorgeous dress!! If I come across it in any of my searching, I'll let you know. If the pic is from the original source, you may be able to right-click and look at properties for the source address...

Thank you all for your helpful replies... thought I'd have lots of time to search but David should be getting his packet 3 on Monday.... won't be long now!!

There are actual Alfred Angelo stores? I always thought that local boutiques carried the Alfred Angelo dresses, but otherwise were independant merchants. At least that's how it is in Tennessee - maybe other states are different.
