Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to allow myself glimpses of my wedding... it will be small and intimate with a reception at our home afterward. David wants to wear a navy blue suit... I'm considering a champagne colored dress/gown... can anyone suggest any web sites to look for ideas? I've used google to browse a bit and am feeling like I'm on a wild goose chase.

Suggestions to narrow the search would be welcomed!!

Thanks you guys. I had seen David's Bridal, and TheKnot, but not the others. Alfred Angelo's site had some promising choices... I'll just have to break down and go to a bridal shop for a few fittings and see...

J Crew, it's where I got mine. I also got it for a fraction of the price because of a sale. I also ended up wearing a totally different dress and sold the J Crew one, unworn, on ebay to some lucky bride-to-be.

Here's the current on sale dresses, check them all as they usually come in other colors.

Funny you mention that.... I'm starting to look for dresses too! It feels so good to know it's getting close and I get so excited planning the whole thing!

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

I gotta make room in my closet LOL

I used to own a bridal shop in canada ad I have a few things left over, these dresses and a bunch of bridesmaid, Mother of brde/groom, prom etc left over that I have to unload before my hubby starts grounding me from buying more clothes (im on closet restriction now :( ...he doesnt get the wconcept that if one pair of shoes breaks you have to replace them with 3 new pairs, its shoe law!! )

June 19th, 2006 - I129-F sent via Fedex (courtesy of my Honey's work) to arrive using next day delivery

Mid- July - Found out I129-F never left his company but is lost there.....need to gather and try again

August 2006 - Still waiting...maybe not the I-129F route anymore

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!

I am a merch assistant at David's(I work at the corporate office)......................I just logged in ALL the wedding dresses that are on sale.

There are LOADS that will be marked down this weekend-you may find a really good deal :yes:
