I am back from my interview that was this morning, it wasn't what I expected. :( . First of all a lady called me to do my finger prints and told me she didn't have our marriage certificate  when the documents that I got from the national visa center, clearly states that everything was in it. As soon as I was called for the interview The consular said my police record has expired but the thing is, I did two police records. One in January 2009 and the last one in November 2009. The consular picked up the one I did in January and said, I needed another police certificate because the one he was holding is expired. I tried explaining that I did one in November, but the consular firmly responded saying " well this is the one I have and it is expired" to that I responded "ok sir" He asked me a few questions about:

(1) Where we met?

(2) How we met?

(3) When we got married?

(4) How long he stayed for the first time?

(5) When was the last time I saw him?

(6) How many persons were at the wedding? (two plus the pastor)

(7) why? (we had a private wedding with two witnesses)

(8) If I had pictures? (I made a cute scrap book :))

(9) If I had western union receipts?

I had everything from the arm bands we wore at the hotels we stayed at to cards my husband, father in-law and sister in-law sent me, to phone records since 2008!!! (trust me I was prepared ;) ) but they only asked for western union receipts and pictures) After about 5 minutes or so of interview the consular started ticking the blue sheet, then he said I should get a new police certificate and use the number on it to make an appointment and return with my passport. What I need to know is:

(1) Will I go through a mini interview when I return with the police record?

(2) How long do you think I have to wait to get an appointment?

(3) Does it mean when I return I might get turned down?

I am trying to be ok but my husband is devastated :crying:. He is unusually quiet and I know he is taking it really hard. I wish I could physically be there for my Baby but I just have to pray. That lawyer is not worth a thing...even if I overlooked it, how could she? If it wasn't for visa journey and yardie thread I would still be in the dark about this whole process. Thanks Yardies!! :) Please give me your views on the questions I asked, so at least I can have something concrete to tell my Boo to comfort him  .

Maybe - if they find something in the meantime - but most likely not. (I base this on what you said "return with my passport")

(2) How long do you think I have to wait to get an appointment?

Unknown - but the faster you return with the info, the faster you get the appointment.

(3) Does it mean when I return I might get turned down?

Always a chance, but I'm thinking not.

Why did you send in two police reports?

Police certificates are usually valid for 1 year but I'm not sure about Jamaica. The one from January 2009 would certainly be invalid.

Awwwe! Sorry to hear that mama, I bet it's that black guy who gave you a hard time. Don't worry too much and tell your hubby to cheer up, everything will be ok. Just have him submit the documents they requested and they will approve his visa. As long as they didn't deny you you're good. My prayers are with you and hubby.

Hi Mrs. Z,

Just remember that delayed does not mean denied. It seems like the CO was being a real @#$%! Bring all of the documents to your next interview. I'm sure you'll be fine. I've been on the Yardie thread for a minute. To date, I am not aware of any CR-1 denials. If you have any more questions, please send a PM. Good luck!

I agree with all the encouraging words. Your good. Just get the record, make the appt. and you'll be fine when comes to interview time. I was blue-slipped because they wanted to see me "in person". At first I was freaking out but after the Yards calmed me down, we were good. If you got a blue-slip; thank God it wasn't a denial or any kind of 2-yr. waiting period...Now thats when ppl really start to worry.

Honesty is the best policy but never use honesty as an excuse to be hurtful.
