Yeah, I can print out my credit card statement that says I paid for one of the hotel stays.

I feel so torn between bringing enough evidence and too much evidence.

As it is I have 4 binders, one for copies of all the forms and documentation we initially submitted, one for originals of everything (BC, passports, etc) plus all the relationship evidence, one for copies of everything, and one for pictures.

I want to be ready to pull stuff out if they ask, but at the same time don't want to go overboard and cause suspicion.

Ack!! So confusing

Monday can't come soon enough..

May you get some beach time soon ;)

I don't think you can bring too much, I will take everything I can think of. It seems as the IOs likes when you are organized and very prepared, I don't think it will make them suspicious. I need to start looking at what we've got, so I can get more stuff if needed. I've had a SSN since I was on F1 in school bc I worked on campus so I fortunately don't have that problem.

Yeah, I don't know how to strike the right balance, especially because it's not like it's a K-1 visa for someone you've only spent a couple of weeks with at a time. I don't know, maybe you could bring all the binders in something like a backpack so it's not completely obvious just how much there is unless you need to bring it all out? I don't know what the security process is re: getting bags in though. Good luck!! How long is it going to take for you to tell us how it went?

Hah, thanks, here's hoping. :)

Yeah, it is more "us" than a church wedding and hubby doesn't want to wear a tuxedo :) We have just started the planning so no vendor contracts yet, only email conversations with the travel agent/destination wedding coordinator. It didn't feel real until I started planning with her about dates and resorts etc. but now I'm sooo excited! We couldn't decide if we should get married here or in Sweden and since a lot of people have to travel far anyway we thought that having it at the beach would be more fun for everyone :)

If I were a guest, I'd be thrilled with your choice. ;)

Yay!! that means it has finally been mailed right? So weird.. nothing is happening with my cases online, AT ALL.

Not even the approved i-94 replacement. I already got the new I-94 in the mail but the online case still says initial review..

But yeah I'm no longer surprised by the way they do notifications anymore.

USCIS has woken me up in the middle of the night, seriously like 2 am to send me a text update. so.. yeah...

Yeah, that means that they finally mailed it. 8 days between 2nd card prod. and the post-decision. Probably my ugly photo that confused them, maybe they tried to photoshop it for me :P I check both the website & the mailbox bc you never know what will happen, I don't trust the txt/email updates at all.

No EAD touches or updates here either.. Maybe they decided I'm not going to need it because they know I'm never finding a job. ever.

I have had 1 interview (and didn't get the job) after the 1 million and one jobs I've applied to, sigh..

I hope you get your EAD notice soon... What good is an expedite, if it doesn't expedite anything, geezzz :bonk:

I'll send my dancing man for you!:dance::dance::dance:

Do they have to be notarized? I didn't do that for ours.

Oh I thought I read that on one of the instructions, but who knows... I've read more in the past few months for this process than in my entire life, haha

Hi fagos. Yup, that was me. I have a word doc where I have been copy-pasting interview experiences I've seen on VJ.

Some are older some are more recent. Some are really easy experiences, some are kinda scary..

I haven't organized them by date or location or anything.. but here it is, hope it helps

:)

I'm just worried that some of the pieces of evidences are only printouts from internet/websites.. not actual letters/statements that were sent to us, mainly because we just thought of getting these things recently..

Even printouts are good evidence - nowadays more and more businesses are providing internet-only receipts so don't worry about it. My work doesn't provide paper statements for salary anymore, or even for W2's, so I printed these out (and an old 2007 W2). Memberships, travel, insurance papers, etc there is not requirement as far as I see it to have this on original official (colour) letterheads, certainly not notarized.

My last three years of Tax returns I just has a printout from TurboTax and the printout of W2 (didn't go through the official IRS thing).

Your 'primary' proof - passport, other state issued photo ids, marriage certificate (notarized / valididated if married abroad helps), birth certificate (original, or notarized certified copy) need to look as good and official as you can make them.

[ I noticed during our interview the IO took good notice of the stamps and signatures on the birth certificates ]

The more you can substantiate you living together (even from printouts) the better.

Thanks Scientist! Good to hear you had some printouts too. Yes, our IDs, passports, Birth and Marriage certificates are all originals or certified copies .. Only a few more days to interview day! I think we're pretty much ready.

I just have to decide what to wear
