Speaking as a lawyer-to-be (provided I pass the bar in July - and dealing w/ all of this in the meantime is NOT helping) and as someone who worked in an immigration clinic, it's really difficult to keep on top of everything when you have so many clients and everyone thinks their case is the one you should be working on next. Also knowing how frustrating it is not to have the person do what you want as soon as you want, I understand how annoying it is to be that person waiting on the lawyer. Just saying, it's not easy to be the lawyer either - and if you stressed about each of your client's cases as much as the client did, you'd have a heart attack before you're 30.

Touche! I also think that even if the lawyer IS stressed out, they probably wouldn't show it.

Personally if I had a lawyer and my case hits a bump in the road and then my lawyer is stressed, well.. I think that might actually freak me out more!

So it is probably better that they remain/appear calm.

Although not to be mistaken with not caring :bonk:

Nice! Congrats!

Hoppla - BTW, I asked the guy while I was talking to him about the medical exam about the tax documents, and he said that I should write it down and explain why - and if the officer wasn't satisfied, then he'd send a request for secondary evidence. I asked him about sending transcripts, a not explaining what's up, and he said that it was up to the officer again to be satisfied re: evidence. So not so helpful, but I can't think of any better evidence than the verification of non-filing from the IRS.

Hope you get it!!

Thanks! We already wrote a statement with the application but I was planning to write a longer one this time. I asked IRS again today if there was any other doc. that they would think about for this for immigration and she said the non filing verification was the best one. I will send the transcripts as well. He got those today. But good to know that they can send a RFE for secondary evidence and this is not the last chance.

I understand the lawyer's point of view and that every client thinks that their case is the most important, but there is a difference between lawyers as well. That is why I changed from a huge firm (did my H3 & H1b app.) to a smaller one.

That sounds good - he also said that you send it certified mail with a return receipt - he emphasized that over and over.

Yep, definitely a difference between lawyers - not to say that anyone shouldn't be frustrated w/ their attorney, but just trying to keep the attorney's point of view in mind. :)

Haha, that too! My supervisor is always stressed, even if he tries not to appear stressed to clients.

Yeah I would think so. A lot of people go weeks earlier so I think a few hours won't hurt!

My I-130 was sent to NVC also. I received the forms to pay the fee for consular processing and the case number with NVC it was right after I sent in my AOS. Guess what I went online to the address they had and updated my information on the email and requested them to send back to USCIS my I-130. NVC sent an email saying that they would do that at the request of USCIS. So I am really lost :rofl:NVC says to wait for USCIS to request and here it is USCIS telling you to request a transfer ..... we won't know for sure LOL

Yikes. Has your I-130 been touched since you sent in the AOS package? You still seem to be moving, whereas I am at a standstill. Maybe they have yours already. I hope so! good.gif

Well, no more touches or any updates yet. Last touch was on May 27, that's over 2 weeks ago and right before my original biometrics appointment. I guess I will keep waiting.

I guess so. I hope to hear something by the end of this week or the next one. I thought my process was going a little faster than usual but I guess it was just for the biometrics appointment. I'm assuming if I haven't gotten any updates it will be a good thing. I have seen a lot of people getting RFEs and getting more updates... I'm not sure if this is good or bad. I guess I should be glad that I haven't received any RFEs yet.

We will se what happens next. Good luck to everyone, including those who are looking for jobs too.
