My former supervisor at an immigration clinic is our attorney, but I think he's in the UK right now. I could give the office a call and see if they've seen anything, though. I'll do that now - so impatient! Thanks for the idea!

We also sent off our expedite request for employment authorization - so it's just a bunch of waiting all around.

Did everyone else get touched after their biometric appointments? I'm getting worried about that too...

Yeah I am wondering about that too. We got touched the day after, but no RFE or anything. So are we to assume everything looked ok?? How frustrating.

No RFE is a good thing! I cannot say this too many times, no news is good news. So don't worry

In this particular waiting game no news is good news.

But wouldn't it be nice if they would give us an update on a regular basis maybe oh..I don't know, once a week

It would say something like

"you case is progressing nicely. nothing to worry about." with a new date each time.

You're right! It would be a lot easier on everyone, and we pay a lot for all the applications so you would think they could do at least that much

I think that depends on the state and if you have temporary license or not.

If you weren't given a temporary license to begin with I think renewal is easy.

Last time I renewed I just had to enter my license number online and a week later the new one came in the mail (this is massachusetts though)

But if you have a temporary one, then I think it depends on how different states handle it.

I have heard of people who were able to renew with EAD but were only given another temporary good til EAD expires.

But then again I've heard of people who were turned down and told they need GC.

Not sure, it is different in different states. I don't think it is enough in Texas,you need to show the valid change of status (i.e the GC). That is how I interpret it though, I could be wrong.

No RFE is a good thing! I cannot say this too many times, no news is good news. So don't worry

I think I will just hold my breath then for the next couple of months....LOL. I like that no news is good news. But sure can't help but wonder what is going on like EVERY DAY. haha.

I had a missouri license that expire in 2008 when my student visa expired. I renewed it in nevada with my EAD for OPT but that also expired in 2009 when my OPT and EAD expired. I know living in missouri again with both expired license.

I looked around on MO dept of rev website and it looks like there is a specific category for AOS applicants.

It says AOS applicants have to provide:

immigration document indicating status and EAD or Passport.

So looks like you should be able to renew

What they should be able to do is just let you know in the case update what the RFE is

Afterall, the RFE letter has a barcode..

So why can't it be scanned before it gets mailed so that the evidence being requested appears in the email update.

Would be a whole lot more efficient than waiting for it in the mail

Called back, left another message that I wanted them to scan it for me. But it was close to 5. I'm going to call again in the morning. So frustrated (not necessarily with them, just at the situation).
