Hello Everyone!

Just a couple of questions. I have my packet 3 and am working on getting all my documents together. I've checked the Vancouver consulate website for current processing times for an interview, just to get an idea. But all the processing times exclude K visas. Anyone booked an appointment recently and has an idea how long it takes to get an interview?

Also, how close to the interview does the medical have to be done? The checklist says I have to book the appointment before I can get an interview, but I read something about it having to be 3 days prior?

Any info would be helpful! Thanks

Hey there I am in the same boat for getting my checklist ready to fax off to Vancouver.

I can't answer your question about how long it takes them to schedule an interview. I have seen a couple people get them in a month after they sent in their checklist. So it is not much of a wait. I am definitely gunnin' for a June interview!

But in regards to booking your medical before you can get an interview date I am not sure where on the checklist you read that but that is not true.

SCHEDULING AN EXAMINATION: Please contact one of the designated physician’s offices listed below to schedule your

medical exam. Please state that you are an applicant for an immigrant or K visa, as the case may be, and provide the date of

your visa interview appointment. The panel physician’s office will inform you of the fees for the exam and tests.

I have seen many people schedule their medicals on the same day of their interview! Get your interview date and see what works best for you but know that yes the medical does have to be done before the interview but it can be done the same day just earlier since the Woking clinic you are supposed to be there at 6 AM to start your medical

Indeed! You need your medical done before the interview and the medical is good for 1 year I believe (you'll use it for your AOS too).

If you live in Vancouver, you can go ahead a book in with the clinic.

To give you an idea of timeline...well look at mine. Vancouver was ON THE BALL.

I faxed my packet 3 checklist and DS forms and I e-mailed them the next day and they provided me my interview date. It's about 5 weeks from packet 3 sent to interview atm.

Oh and make sure you have your police certificate before you send in your packet 3 checklist...that's the only thing I'm still waiting for (was supposed to get it April 29) and I'm starting to be a wee bit anxious since Craig (USC) is coming with me to the interview and everything's already booked.

Good luck!

Thanks you guys! (Sorry for the wrong thread)

Filled out the application, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon about the appointment. I think the confusion rests on the fact that Montreal and Vancouver have different policies, they didn't clarify on the checklist.

I know what you mean Eernez, I'm waiting on my Birth Certificate...but congrats and good luck on your interview!!
