So I got an RFE for my I-864 that I submitted for my wife. The RFE asked me for tax return for 2009 which I did not submit b\c I filed for an extension. I did note in my I-864 packages cover letter that I was including the W2's for 2009 but not the tax return b\c I had filed for an been approved for an extension.

So I called the NVC and told them I have nothing except emails and screen shots from Turbo Tax showing that my request for an extension had been approved. I have not been able to find anything anywhere that tells me if the IRS sends out anything confirming an extension. The NVC operator could not guarantee if the screen shot and email from turbo tax along with the copy of form 4868 would satisfy the RFE.

Anyone else have any experience with this kind of a situation?

Thanks all
