Special effects were good, story was kinda blah.

I wouldn't see it again, though the stores are giving me no choice, almost all the stores with TVs are playing it.

Thanks, this old fart finally hit the right button!

I thought Sigourney Weaver was a little trite/typecast.

I think it would have been more effective with an unknown

in that role. I was thinking less about her character than

"it's Sigourney doing her usual schtick;" no surprises there.

I liked avatar on the imax 3d thingie.

If I were to watch it again, I'd set up a projector for OUTSIDE the house, projecting on huge screen (or a bunch of sheets, or a huge sail or the side of a barn) and throw a costume party.

I'd never see it in a library - IMO, the seats in a library are just too uncomfortable to wade through a 3 hour movie.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

The library was brand new, LOL and the auditorium had very comfortable modern seating.

That could have contributed to why I was feeling sleepy in all fairness.wow.gif

If it was uncomfortable I probably wouldn't have been able to doze off.

However, you may be right in suggesting that 3D would have added to the experience,

making the 2D version seem flat by comparison.

While they were waiting for everyone to be seated so that stragglers wouldn't be coming

in and walking in front of you, they played the DVD setup screen, which did have

something of a hypnotic effect.

There may have been some "blue monkey" people in the audience; one or two

were shouting out "YEAH!" when our heroes were getting the best of the corporate army.

Seeing it in 3D at the theatre and at home again - the 3D definitely added a lot to it. Too bad the 3D DVD version won't be out until sometime next year (and at that, you'll need a 3D TV and DVD/Blu Ray machine to see it).

I actually thought it copied the plot of the Last Samurai. IE Military expert brought in, he originally does his job grudgingly, then gets to know the natives, then fights for natives. But since the last samurai wasn't on this list, I picked the Blue Man Group, because they are Blue.

Well rats! Hadn't seen the movie yet (am so used to waiting for the DVD I guess). Just checked fandango and its no where to be found now. Am (or was)curious about the 3D and other technology in the film.

I usually wait for the DVD too. In fact, it was the "street sale" DVD version that they showed in the library.

The "Play" etc. options at the start gave it away.

The introductory montage was repeated over and over while people were taking their seats.

I'm sure the 3D version would give it a much different look.

So without the 3D the plot didn't seem to pick up the slack.

By the way, I got "A Man Called Horse" from the library

and "The Return of A Man Called Horse" is on order.

I saw the first years ago but never saw the second.

We'll see the first one again this weekend.
