That's about the most dishonest, illogical and unsubstantiated comment in the entire thread.

 I think the idea was to try to deliberately inflame. I think the same misunderstandings pervade the entire debate over how America should deal with the influx of undocumented/unauthorized immigrants.

We know that this issue is used by extremists on both sides of the debate but somehow these extreme positions dominate the debate instead of remaining where they should be, on the extreme outside. An economic downturn does seem to feed the extremists which is at least unfortunate.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Fascinating. What has your appearance got to do with the validity of your opinion, exactly?

In other words, you cannot pull the usual 'you hate brown people' bullshit against her opinion.

You really are delusional. You are the extremist Cleo on this issue. It's why you don't debate, you simply tell others they are wrong and you are right.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Not everyone who wishes to reduce the influx of undocumented/unauthorised migrants is a racist by any means. However, if you insist on framing your opinion on this issue in such a way as to debase a particular demographic or ethnicity then that is what you are, regardless of whether you understand that or not.

There is no "debate" in this thread, BY so it's a bit of a cheek to suggest debate or anything like it describes your contributions to the thread. The premise of the OP doesn't even ask or allow for any discussion.

All it asks is for people to post their favorite photos of alleged illegal immigrants with protest signs, so that the people doing it can jerk off their reactionary opinions all over the place; make out how justified they are in supporting dodgy laws or making obscene comments about executing people.

Actually it comes across like that because the majority as in over 85% of illegal aliens reside from one region, verified by DHS stats yesterday in another thread. I am not going to deny this elephant in the room to appease some on here. Not going to happen.

Oh, and no, the validity of one's opinion on what is and isn't racist or discriminatory is not based on whether or not you share similarities of appearance.

Of course this thread is not about debate but others have been; that's what I was referring to.

That is no reason nor excuse to demonise or debase a demographic or ethnicity. To believe that it is is at best poor judgment.

Pleeeeease, we could sneeze and you two will deem it racist. I just don't get what's your deal with defending certain groups anyway. There are a number of you on some sort of bandwagon crusade.

So then why are you participating in it then? In you're interested in debate...?

Um it's a thread about banners and signs protesters are holding. You are the one who has come here like Cleo crying about these posters. Neither Danno nor I are holding these posters mate.

No BY, I am very particular as to what I deem as discriminatory or prejudiced. If your views promote the view that one could and should treat a particular demographic/ethnicity differently, then that is discriminatory and prejudiced no matter what 'excuse' you use to justify it, which in your case, is, the problem is so severe that one has to target these people because not doing so is stupid and inefficient.

Sorry Cleo but their actions (or lack of) speak for themselves. Had AA, for example, had normal crime rates and I mentioned them for no reason, then by all means accuse me of something. Even a 5 year old can see a problem when an entire country has 3.6% of the homicides (per capita) than a certain demographic. You will come up with this I don't get it horseshit but never actually explain what I apparently don't get. Though, occasionally you guys throw out generic excuses like socioeconomics. Yet when questioned further on this, you will revert back to racist labels and accuse me of simply not getting it.

The difference is that you clearly feel everyone should be questioned or hassled for the actions of the few. I don't. If Aussies were breaking immigration laws, by all means target them. You disagree and think even the Japanese should be target too, just to be fair.

BY, this is a perfect example. You believe that there is something endemic in African Americans that makes them more prone to engage in criminal activity. I am not sure how to explain to you any more clearly that this is a discriminatory and prejudiced opinion to hold.

The difference is that you clearly feel everyone should be questioned or hassled for the actions of the few. I don't. If Aussies were breaking immigration laws, by all means target them. You disagree and think even the Japanese should be target just to be fair.

Again, this is a classic example of discrimination and prejudice.
