Misspelled Middle Name on Green Card

My wife's green card arrived in the mail Friday.

In the upper left of the card, her name is shown using only a middle initial. But across the bottom of the card there is a bunch of computer-generated data, and there is her middle name misspelled (missing one letter).

The middle name was also misspelled on our interview notice. We pointed it out to our interviewer, who said he would correct it, but he obviously forgot.

I called USCIS, and they said to file form I-90 (new card request). The filling fee is waived since it is their error.

The problem is, Form I-90 only requires a middle initial! There does not appear to be a place for additional information. Does USCIS even care about the middle name? Almost all of our correspondence with them didn't include it. Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Randy and Nina
