Hey everyone, thanks for all the support and help throughout the last few months, this process would have been much more difficult without you guys.

I originally had an interview on March 3rd, but I never attended because they never sent me a notice for the interview, so my interview was delayed back 2 months till today, 5/3 scheduled at 9:05am.

I stayed at my friend's dorm the night before because he lives about 10 minutes walking distance from Federal Plaza. It was pouring hard when I went out and there was noone in line like I read in some other NYC experience posts. Went up to the 7th floor, was surprised at how empty the room was - probably at most 30 people. I handed my interview notice in and waited for about 40 minutes. People were getting called in before me every five minutes if not faster, I was suprirsed at how fast everything went. I tried to ask some of the guys who came out if they were waiting for their oath letters but none of them were.

Finally, my name was called and I follow the lady to the end of the hallway into her office. She was nice, professional, and kinda friendly? We had the test first which I passed. Then she asked for green card and passports - she also checked the stamps in the passport with the dates in my application. We went through the application and that was it! She did not ask for any documentations - proof that I go to school or anything. I asked her whether I could wait for my oath letter today and she said they messed up my name in the system or something ...if not I definitely could have waited for the oath letter today. (arghhhhh!!! you gotta be kidding me!) I asked her if she has any idea when my oath will be or when my oath letter will arrive. She said it doesn't matter if you get the oath letter today or not becuase your oath will be the same day anyway. So oath letter should arrive in a week or two, and oath should be sometime this month ...let's hope she's right!

I hope your oath goes well.

For what it's worth, here is an oath for a Scottish knight:

The oath of a knight(Nisbet, 'System of Heraldry', Vol. II, Part IV, p. 156):

  1. I shall fortify and defend the true Christian Religion, and Christ's holy evangel, now presently preached within this realm to the utmost of my power.
  2. I shall be loyal and true to my sovereign Lord the King's Majesty, to all orders of chivalry, and to the notable Office of Arms.
  3. I shall fortify and defend justice at my power, and that without favour or fead.
  4. I shall never flee from my sovereign Lord the King's Majesty, nor from his highness's lieutenants in time of mellay or battle.
  5. I shall defend my native realm from all alieners and strangers.
  6. I shall defend the just action and quarrel of all ladies of honour, of all true and friendless widows, of orphans, and of maidens of good fame.
  7. I shall do diligence wheresoever I hear there are any murderers, traitors, and masterful reavers, that oppress the King's lieges, and poor people, to bring them to the law at my power.
  8. I shall maintain and uphold the noble estate of chivalry, with horse, harness, and other knightly abuliments, and shall help and succour them of the same order at my power, if they have need.
  9. I shall enquire and seek to have the knowledge and understanding of all these articles and points contained in the book of chivalry

All these I promise to observe, keep, and fulfil, I oblesse me. So help me, my God, by my own hand. So help me God.
