Out of Status?

What happen if you're K1 Visa has expired and you're AOS papers are still on process? Obviously, you will be OUT OF STATUS. What action will you take since you don't have any valid Visa?

On the other hand I've applied a California ID but will also expires next month once my K1 VISA Expires. Can I renewed it even with an expired K1 Visa? At least in benefit that I have a valid US Identification.

errata - have you applied for SSN yet? If Not - go do that Monday. Bring passport, I-94, and birth certificate into SSA office.

re - out of status -

You filed the AOS package, so soon you should get a notice of receipt, NOA-1 document.

That receipt notice 'gives you some status' .

Your POE date was 2010-03-24, so 90 days past that, around June 24 (sorry, can't do math tonight) the I-94 will expire.

IF you have receipt notice in hand prior to June 24, you'll be ok.

Otherwise - STAY OUT OF ANY ENFORCEMENT AREA, you run some risk of being detained, without the receipt notice in yer hand.

But - even if you are detained, at some point, yer status will be looked up on the USCIS computer system - there SHOULD BE some record of you sending in the AOS package from 2010-04-14, on the USCIS computer system.

I don't want to confuse you, but even if you had not filed for AOS yet, you would not be out of status as a K-1 . . . only.
