Hi guys!

I posted this in another forum but think I'll get better infor here.

I was looking over the government website for preparing for the interview...

This is what it says:

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to obtain the following original documents or certified copies of the documents from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity).

* Birth Certificate

* Court and Prison Records

* Deportation Documentation

* Marriage Certificate

* Marriage Termination Documentation

* Military Records

* Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

* Police Certificate(s)

All documents that pertain to the applicant’s petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with the applicant’s petition.

The embassy will have this already from the NVC right? It says CIS but I guess they're talking about the NVC in this We don't have to obtain this again? Am I just way over analyzing everything at this point??

Just bring copies of all packets plus additional proof in case they ask right??

THANKS!

Emamama, I want to make sure I understand your question correctly. Are you asking if you need to bring another set of documents to the interview? Or if the NVC will just forward to your consulate everything you submitted to them?

If you submitted all your civil documents to the NVC, they will forward these to your consulate for your interview. Your original documents will be returned to you then.

If, however, you failed to submit a document and they already sent you several checklists (requests for further evidence), you may be asked to provide them that missing document at your interview.

Does this answer your question?

If you sent your originals to NVC, you don't need to bring another set of originals at the consulate. NVC sends the entire package which includes your originals to the consulate, you will get it back after your interview.

Gina,

Thanks! It seemed so weird that we would need a whole new set of documents. I think at this point my brain is fried and I'm complicating things on my own. Gracias!
