How many times did you meet before you started the visa application process???

[Actually you got the meeting time requirement wrong: It's you must present proof that you met in person within the last two years prior to filing the petition. The meeting must be at least 2 seconds in length at a minimum; that should be all that is required to take a photo together.

There is no minimum meeting length, only that you did meet (and can prove it).

Now, having all the documents in order DOES NOT guarantee a visa. It guarantees an approved petition; the visa can only be obtained after a subjective meeting with the consular officer. They are trained to look for certain keys and are allowed (with very little appeal ability on your end) to make personal judgements as to issue the visa or not.

It's not a slam dunk but also if you really really have a true relationship, and can prove it, then you are good to go, especially with Moscow.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

There are 2 requirements for the K1: that you (the petitioner) are a US citizen, and that you have met your fiance(e) in person within the last 2 years. They cannot deny you on the basis of meeting alone. They also are not supposed to judge the "quality" of your relationship, only that you have one. Which is why proof such as emails, phone calls, chats, etc are so important.

If I had to guess, I'd say the majority of VJ'ers have only met their spouses in person once. It's not at all uncommon. In fact, a lot of guys have only met their fiancées for a few days while on a marriage tour, and had no problems getting through the process. Keep up your relationship, offer up the proper evidence, help your fiancée understand what's going to take place at the interview, and you will be fine.

Not having the proper documents is slam dunk that you won't get it though.

As long as you have a legitimate relationship (sounds like you do) and you don't have any major red flags in your case (ie: she is a former nuclear scientist), you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Keep on top of the paperwork and you should be golden.
