A few questions:

When filing for the CR-1 does it matter how long you were married? Can you file it immediately after?

Also can you travel in and out of the US while it is being processed?

If you file immediately after getting married, what would be considered bonified evidence, since you have been so recently married?

Thanks

A marriage certificate and some photos together will do nicely.

It's always difficult to generate that evidence, when you are firstly married or live far apart -

Here's what I did, ages past - have a read?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes you can file immediately after getting married. We got married and filed within a couple weeks. We were together 11 months prior to marriage. Our evidence of bonafied marriage consisted of...

Pictures together throughout our relationship (we put a description on the back of each with a date)

Airplane Itineraries when we flew together and to visit each other.

3 Affidavit of supports from people who attended our wedding stating that they were there and were a witness to our relationship.

Anything joint, our bank account, an investment which I put his name on...

btw I don't think a marriage cert is a a form of evidence because it is required in the packet anyways, and it proves you got married but nothing else about your relationship.

We didn't add phone logs, or personal emails, but you can also do that. The more evidence they receive the better chances are that you will prove your point to them

When it comes to traveling to the US during the process, I've gotten conflicting answers. what I have gathered is this.... You're not supposed to travel to the states during the process, but if you can provide enough evidence (lease, utility contracts, work letter stating employment) that you'll be returning to your country and only staying in the states for a short visit, then you may be able to do it. I heard some people have gotten away with it and others haven't. So, it's a choice you have to make, risk it or not.

Good luck.

Also can you travel in and out of the US while it is being processed?

Typically if your spouse has a tourist visa the game is up for coming and going from the US -- it's hard to prove that you want to be a tourist and have no intentions on sticking around after you've expressed a desire to immigrate to the country.

04.26.2010 | Day 0 :: Lockbox received I-130 packet w/ consular processing in Perú

04.30.2010 | Day 4 :: $355 check cashed, NOA1

10.05.2010 | Day 163 :: I-130 NOA2 California approval (5 months, 5 days since NOA1)

10.18.2010 | Day 176 ⇔ 0 :: NVC assigned case number ( as of November the AVR system still says no case # assigned)

11.10.2010 | Day 199 ⇔ 24 :: DS-3032 e-mailed again with ATTN to Supervisor Sue (acceptance response 25 min later!); paid $404 IV fee online

11.26.2010 | Day 215 ⇔ 40 :: I-864 and DS-230 packets delivered

03.14.2011 | Day 322 ⇔ 147 :: NVC case closed (4 months, 24 days)

03.26.2011 | Day 334 ⇔ 159 :: NVC assigned embassy interview for May 31 (5 months, 8 days)

05.31.2011 | Day 400 :: Embassy interview, Approved!

06.06.2011 | Day 406 :: Passport & entry packet picked up from DHL

Not true at all. If they don't already have tourist visa, they aren't likely to get one but people visit during the process quite regularly if they have visa or visitor privilege already in place.
