Hi there, I am new to this process and will be working on this with my wife and the help of people like yourself. Like many others I cannot afford to get legal representation and must rely on the experience and advice of others. Here are a few questions that may sound like they should be self-explanatory but I need to make sure I do everything correct. Thanks in advance for your help.

here a sample one u can use:

<ALIEN NAME AND ADDRESS> <--- I am filing on behalf of my wife, would I put my name on this line instead?

NATURE OF THE SUBMISSION: I-130 ORIGINAL SUBMISSION

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Dear USCIS,

Enclosed please find form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, and the supporting documents. The petition is filed by USC (does my name go here?), a USC (should I write this down as United States Citizen instead) on behalf of ALIEN (my wife's name?), a citizen of Belgium.

Concurrently with this I-130, ALIEN and USC (her name and mine instead?) have filed form I-485 (she is in Germany so this form does not apply to us, could I instead include the form G-325A instead?) and all the supporting documents.

Contents of I-130 package:

 Check

 I-130 petition filed by USC (my name?), petitioner on behalf of ALIEN (her name?), beneficiary.

 Copy of Birth Certificate of USC (my name?).

 Copy and certified translation of Birth Certificate of ALIEN (her name?).

 Copy of Marriage Certificate

 Form G-325a completed by USC (my name?)

 Passport type picture of USC (my name?)

 Form G-325a Completed by ALIEN. (her name?)

 Passport type Picture of ALIEN (her name?)

 Proof of Bona Fide Marriage

o Affidavit of Bona Fide Marriage by mother of USC. (my name?)

o Affidavit of Bona Fide Marriage by mother of USC. (shouldn't this be of my wife's mother?)

o Selection of Pictures that document relationship and marriage

o Photocopies of wedding cards and gift receipts

Thank you for your time and patience,

Kind regards,

I think the cover letter the OP is asking is the one sent by the NVC,

the one with the barcode, that should be at the top of all your documents,

and it should be in order, like how NVC requested it....

Oh, the I-130 is the petition application submitted to USCIS. It's not yet part of the NVC stage. :)
