Just a quick question on these Police Certificates. Since I am already married to my wife she has taken on my name but only recently. Does it matter what name the cerficate is in? Meaning her Maiden Name or Married name . Can the NVC figure that much out or does this open you to a RFE.

It may sound silly but its stuck in my head and I dont trust them haha. Thanks

TomD - get it done in her PASSPORT NAME.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Okay She will need a new on as her old one is soon out of date. I told her she needs to decide on what her new name will be. At first I thought like a westerner and said you need to keep your middle name as it is on your birth certificate. Now after reading several topics on the subject I guess it doesnt matter and she can use her maiden name as her middle name just solong as it matches the Passport. So being the kind person I am I will let her name use the name of her choice. lol :hehe:

I was reading the guide on this page:

http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide1

and it says that after the I-130 approval by USCIS, "A few weeks after you have received your last Notice of Action indicating the approval and forwarding of your I-130 application to the NVC, the NVC will send your relative a packet of forms"

The problem that I might have here is that in the country where my wife lives, Saudi Arabia, the mail system dose not work, and it never worked. She cannot receive mail there unless it was sent to a PO box or via UPS, DHL, or FedEx. My question is this:

a) Will the NVC ask for a her mailing address

b) or will they just send this packet to the address in the I-130?

c) or will I get a copy of this packet to forward to her?

You can probably find which forms are in that packet, download them and fill them out without waiting for them in the mail. You can also have the petitioner act as an agent (DS-3032) so that they will receive all the information. Then they can forward it to the beneficiary using UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.
