K3 Visa Approved at Ciudad Juarez

My wife had her interview for a K3 Visa yesterday, April 28th, at 8:15 AM. She finally came out at about 1:30 PM and she had been approved. Now we are just waiting on the visa to be delivered to the DHL office. Anyone know how long that might take? We are really anxious to get out of this dangerous city and to get home to see the family :) Thanks!

Congrats! I had been wondering about you guys! I'm glad everything worked out in time for the baby. Sometimes the visa can take a while, although it is usually ready same day or the next day. If you are getting worried, I think you (the USC)or possibly she can inquire at some information window? I have heard that you can check if your package is ready at DHL online on DHL's website. Sorry, I don't have that much information about it. I will do a web search and see if I can find anything more for you guys tonight.

We hope and pray you get out of CDJ soon and safe. Anything goes there, and usually does. Life is not respected there if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Congratz on the approval!:dance::dance:

It is our hope that they move the Consulate interviews to a safer, nicer place, like Yucatan.

I like your message, Hopp. I so wish my hubby was going to Cancun for his visa but it's looking like he definitely will be in CJ where you can meet every type of Mexican police - traffic police, city, state, federal, the creepy ones I call Men in Black cuz they drive black Chargers and have black sunglasses and glare at you as they go (judiciales,) the army, and now even DEA agents undercover.

Hey Dbarker, I found the DHL website for you: www.dhl.com.mx. They have a 1-800 number: 1-800-134-5847. (1-800s don't work if you are in Mexico. It's 001-880 + the number) which can be quite expensive, or you can use Skype to dial 1-800s free supposedly. (I'm not good with Skype.) I'm about to see if other people are in a similar situation. From the ones I can remember, everyone who posted that they were waiting for theirs got it very soon after. I think there might be 2 DHL offices in CJ but one is the more used. Did you check both? 2 days appears to be not unheard of for a visa, though, so I bet you will get it tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your responses everyone. Unfortunately we are still stuck here in Ciudad Juarez. We are checking the DHL website every few minutes but it still just says "Informacion del envio recibida" but it hasn't changed since wednesday. We are really disappointed because my family has planned a really nice reception for us tomorrow night and it appears that we will have to miss it :( Everything I had read before gave me the idea that it would take one or two days at most especially because it was a relatively simple case without waivers or anything. So now we probably will have to stay into next week and I will not be able to get back to work in time, but at least we are together and the visa was approved. There is still a chance it will be sent today and we can pick it up this afternoon or tomorrow morning and make it back in time, but we're starting to lose hope :( I will write my consulate review when we get home and I can include the experience with DHL. Good luck everyone.

I'm so sorry, dbarker...I didn't think it would take so long for a normal visa case. I'm actually pretty shocked. I hope you guys hear really soon!

Well, it's Saturday and we won't be getting home in time for the reception. We tried calling the Consulate Emergency Line and they were very nice, but they said they couldn't do anything. They offered to come see us at the hotel to see if we are okay, but we said that wouldn't be necessary. Anyway, we will be connecting with skype to talk with the 250 plus people that my parents invited to our reception tonight, haha so at least we have that option. Hopefully monday we will get the visa and be on our way and out of this city. Thanks for all of your comments.

Congratulations to both of you! It has been a long wait but the result was worth it.

I hope you have visa in hand soon! It's really nice to know that a "paisana" from Ver. has been approved.

I agree with Hopp but I don't think interviews be moved to another Consulates, unfortunately.

MY FIANCE AND I WILL SOON HAVE OUR INTERVIEW AT JUAREZ, BUT WE SURE DONT' WANT TO BE IN THIS SITUATION LIKE YOU GUYS...

WHERE YOU END UP STAYIN MORE DAYS IN CJ THEN EXPECTED..ITS REALLY DANGEROUS!

I WONDER IF IT'S BETTER TO JUST GO BACK HOME AFTER THE INTERVIEW AND PICK UP THE VISA ANOTHER DAY, WHEN WE KNOW IT'S READY FOR SURE?
