Jasminelily look the last April 2010 applicants table again. "Dabu" completed the biometrics appointment on 05/11/2010 and he received the Interview letter on 07/03/10. That is not even close to three months as you wrote. Is just 1 month and 3 weeks. The normal wait between the biometrics and interview letter is 3-4 weeks. I would start calling USCIS two months after the biometrics appointment.

Oh! Sorry! Thank you for correcting! I must have looked at the interview date instead of the interview letter received date. So I agreed, if no interview letter two months after biometrics appointment for NYC, start calling the mis-information line. I don't think you can use normal wait time anymore after biometrics, because after that depends on the speed of the local office, so using timeline of other people that has the same local office would be more accurate.

7/22/2010 - Online status changed to "Case sent to local office for interview schedule"

Yesterday I received a yellow notice from USCIS. It's NOT a interview appointment letter. The letter says "We have reviewed your N-400 application and as a result of that review we advise you to bring the following documents in your N-400 interview."

The docs are: -

1. State issued driver license or state issued photo id

2. Any Passport (expired or current) and travel document issued by any government.

My question is:-

1. Did any of you guys receive anything like this before youre interview?

2. I have my different state's (where I used to live before) driver license and that's not expired yet so I haven't applied for NYC driver license yet. Should I really need to get NYC driver license or I can show them other proof of residency like my pay stub or letter from employer, bank statement etc. ?

I got the yellow letter saying that as well. It's pretty normal. Just bring those documents.

I have wondered about these yellow letters, I have seen other people reference them. Does everyone get a yellow letter? If you do not get a yellow letter, what are you required to take to the interview? (My plan is to take a copy of everything I sent in with the application package) ....

I have wondered about these yellow letters, I have seen other people reference them. Does everyone get a yellow letter? If you do not get a yellow letter, what are you required to take to the interview? (My plan is to take a copy of everything I sent in with the application package) ....

Well... My plan is to go to the interview with all the originals of every documents I sent in my application. I don't want to take any risk and I can always return with the originals back home.

I didn't get the yellow letter. Probably because I sent in copies of bank statements, electricity bills, etc etc on top of what they already asked for; treated it like proof of marriage since I'm applying base on the 3 years rule. On the interview appointment letter, it said I should bring originals of what I've submitted in copies with the application initially. I'm going to bring originals like driver license, marriage license and passports etc; plus bank statements and electricity bills for the period after I submitted my application to prove that we're still together.

P.S. They didn't ask for the bank statements and electricity bills or anything like that, I sent them in because I predicted that they will ask for it in the interview anyways so to save them some troubles. Just wanted to say that they're not required so no one needs to panic if they didn't.

Whoever has gotten the interview appointment letter, have theirs online status been changed??? My status still showing 'RFE' :( but I haven't received interview letter yet.

yeah everyone lets share the interview experience and questions that they asked.

I am still waiting for interview appointment. oh lordie........

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

Just got yellow letter in the mail. But no Interview Letter yet. Hopefully soon. Looking at other Atlanta filers on this Forum, it took about 2 months between Fingerprint and Interview letter. SO maybe 3 more weeks.

03/30/2009 - Received Biometrics Appointment Notice for 04/08/2009

04/08/2009 - Completed Biometrics

04/09/2009 - Touched............Now the wait begins..........Still waiting.....

08/21/2009 - Received letter of approval in the mail!!! Oh happy day!! Dated 08/17/2009

09/20/2009 - Received 10 Year Green Card...Woohoo!!!

12/14/2009 - Eligible to File for Naturalization

Naturalization Journey Begins:

05/14/2010 - Used USPS Express Mail to mail my package to Lewisville, TX

05/24/2010 - Notice of Receipt Date

05/26/2010 - USCIS confirms Acceptance via sms and email

06/14/2010 - Received Biometrics Appointment Notice for 07/01/2010

06/29/2010 - Completed Biometrics - Walk in

08/02/2010 - Got Yellow Letter

08/09/2010 - Got Interview Letter Scheduled for 09/08/2010

09/08/2010 - Interview Date.....

09/08/2010 - Approved!!! Same Day Oath!!!!
