On the I-864 check list says that I have to include the "federal income tax return, W-2s and 1099s".

1. What are the "1099s" schedules ?

2. The federal income tax return--- does that mean all the forms, because I only have the 1040 form for all 3 years + the W2s!

If in fact I need the 1099s where could I get them?

1099 are from banks for dividend interest or if you are a contractor you might have one.

Not everyone one has 1099s so if you do not have any do not worry about it.

You also now only need to submit the most recent tax return, not 3 years.

The I-864 does not need to be notarized. Leave the notarization area blank. Plus, only the most recent year's tax return is required. You may submit the last 3 years' return, if you want. I posted about two weeks ago how I arranged my I-864 packet. You can still find it on CR-1 forum. I attached a cover letter where I mentioned what I am sending and that it was not notarized, per instructions.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Hi Andre,

A 1099 is like a W2 for those who are self-employed, or an indie-contractor.

If you are employed by someone else-you will only get a W2.

You only need the most recent tax submission, and you no longer need notarization

Good luck & a speedy journey to you !!!
