Nothing here either!

Very very annoying.

Planning on going up to the Social Security office on friday, hopefully they'll be able to do something, eventhough I won't have (most likely) recieved my welcome letter by then.

What do you guys think? It should still be doable right? If I have my passport w/visa w/admission stamp. Should I bring something else?I have a second ID aswell.

Johanna, you should be fine with the docts you have.

I would bring a the NOA2 that shows the Alien number, just in case they dont accept the 'registration number' on the visa (its the same though).

Let me know how it went. Good luck hon!

RE; Welcome Letter & anything else we are suppose to receive.

Since some of us changed our address with the post office (did you?) since we moved into our new place after arriving, do you think that will cause a problem w/receiving the paperwork?

For those about to POE -- make sure you ask the IO if you've been updated in the SAVE system when crossing over.

Confused about that statement. Should my hubby asked something at POE?

Johanna, you should be fine with the docts you have.

I would bring a the NOA2 that shows the Alien number, just in case they dont accept the 'registration number' on the visa (its the same though).

Should my hubby have something already that has his future GC Alien number on it? I never did look at his stamp that he got at POE.

You do not submit your passport to VFS. You will need it for the interview and will not be granted admission otherwise. VFS wants a photocopy of every page of your passport and will put a little sticker at the back of your passport after you've paid the DHL fees.

1. I changed my address at POE and filed a AR-11 online. If you've moved you should definitely file the AR-11.

2. Apparently. I didn't know about this till last week when someone else mentioned it.

Tha A-number is on the NOA2 and in the visa. I also have it hand-written on my admisson stamp.

If your adress has changed from the one that's in your "USCIS-file" you have to have the immigrant (hubby) fill out an AR-11, can be done online, and the sponsor (you) need to send in an I-865.

From what I'v read, yes. It's to change the sponsors adress, the AR-11 is only for the immigrant.

It can't be done online either, has to be mailed in to the appropriate USCIS-office, depends on where you live.

Or am I wrong? Someone else who knows?

I didn't know the sponsor has to file for change of address either, since he is a USC?????

I did the AR-11 and requested USPS to forward mail to my new place as well - I know USCIC don't forward mail, but I already changed it online....

Can someone confirm about the I-865?

The way I understand it the sponsoring USC has to fill out and send the I865 as long as the I-864 is in play.

Tat, which state do you live in?

To report a sponsor's new address and/or residence, as required by 8 U.S.C. 1183a(d)

(d) Notification of change of address

(1) General requirement

The sponsor shall notify the Attorney General and the State in

which the sponsored alien is currently a resident within 30 days

of any change of address of the sponsor during the period in

which an affidavit of support is enforceable.
