Hello Everyone...

My wife's interview went OK, except for the part where they found out that I messed up. I sent her the 2009 tax returns and forgot to include the W2s. How dumb of me!! I've been kicking myself ever since she told me that. But she did say that they told her to go home and email the W2s and that they will send out the passport and POE packet as soon as they receive the email. I hope I havent delayed the process too much by this one big ####-up!!

I'm so mad at myself right now.

P.S. I already sent her the email with the W2s. She's going to send it in by noon EST. Does anyone know if she will get an auto-reply to her email? How good are they at responding to queries? How long do they usually take?

So until she receives her package in the mail, I guess I cant celebrate... bummer :(:(

They lack one very small thing - SJ, this is not even a bump in the road after everything you have been thru! I know, easy for me to say, not my spouse! Won't be long, though, and she will finally be home. So I will give you a partial congrats!

Aw, man!!! That sucks. Hopefully, they'll respond soon. They kept her passport, yes? Make sure the case number is attached to it. I'd also follow up in a day or two by a phone-call and email. Did they give her a specific email address/fax # to send it to them?

Guys, it's either IRS tax transcript OR 1040/W2/1099s.

This is only one hurdle... you are going to celebrate soon.

Make sure that she put NVC case number or any receipt number that embassy has given her.

Congratulations is on the way.:dance:

Q - Did you send her the tax return or Tax transcripts from IRS? (I think with tax transcripts you don't need to send in W2)

They lack one very small thing - SJ, this is not even a bump in the road after everything you have been thru! I know, easy for me to say, not my spouse! Won't be long, though, and she will finally be home. So I will give you a partial congrats!

Thanks for the support guys. I already emailed her the scanned copies of my W2s. They did give her an email address to send ithem to,although I dont know if its a generic one (chennaiuv@state.gov i think).

I didnt send the Tax Transcripts since I had all the returns available.

Sach-They did keep her passport,so I guess thats a good sign. They told her specifically that she need not come back and an email will work just fine. You are right, I should call and follow up after a couple days.

Deep or Married, which one of you had requested an earlier interview date? How soon did they respond?Did you get an auto-reply?

Ok. That's the generic one. I'd email them with URGENT, CASE # in the subject line and with the scanned W2s attached. Good luck! I'm sure it'll get resolved in a couple of days. Definitely call on Monday (you do the calling) if you haven't heard anything by then.

It wasn't me. Ours is in Montreal, no point in asking for an earlier date.

the tokyo embassy will usually reply to an email within a few hours of sending it.

so depending on how busy your embassy is, they could have everything done and going the same day you send the email. all depends on the embassy though.

good luck!
