congratulations!!!!     i know what a struggle it was getting PCCs and all. Do write a report, cuz we need to know what to expect, especially us chennai-ites!

The interview officer asked her 4 questions only

1)how did you meet your husband? and when and where was the wedding?

2)tell us about your husband family?

3)where does he work?

4)Again when was the wedding ? ( then he asked her how was the wedding and how many people were there, when my wife told that there were more than 2000 people at the wedding.. he was surprised and asked her how could we manage such a big wedding party, she told him that she doesnt know it was done by elders in the family :)

He looked at the wedding pics and told her that pics came pretty good and made some comments about the traditional south indian clothes & shadi mandap.

they he told her congrats your visa has been approved and its time for oath :)

She is still in Chennai, hoping to pick up the passport/visa tomorrow.

She went inside the consulate abround 8am and came out at 10:15am..

Good luck to you Hobo and SJ... you guys will be fine. they dint ask her anything about ongoing relationship or anything like that....

Hi everyone!

My huband and I got his Visa appointment for the 21st of June 2010.

We are both very nervous, not knowing what to expect for me is nerve racking.

Maybe someone out there is in the same situation as us. My husband was in the state

illegally for many years and was sent back but not by an immigration judge. He has the

10 year bar to deal with. Do any of you have the same situation?

and what have you done to over come that?

Congratulations to all the recent approvals! Way to kick off June!!

As for here I'm a little frazzled with trying to get things ready to go see my husband next week but I am SO happy! I'm trying to get this house ready and our evidence too. Of course this weekend I have several people coming to town that I haven't seen in a while but actually I think it might help to break up the time a little bit. I'm starting to go a little stir crazy.

Oh and something funny...I was reading the directions on the new dual voltage hair dryer I bought for this trip (last year I had to go without when mine blew up...never heard of dual voltage before that. :bonk: ) Well, one of the instructions says "Never use while you are sleeping." That goes under the well, duh...files!

Have a great day everyone!

Estefani, I think you'll be alright. What other pictures do you have besides the wedding? I would beef those up. Even if you think some of the pictures are less than perfect, send them anyway. The point is that the CO sees you two together. Joint bank account is . Don't forget to write a letter explaining the important dates in your relationship.

EVERYONE! Don't forget! Write an evolution of relationship letter. Even if you're not interviewing in China or Vietnam. It can't hurt. It should clearly and concisely detail the significant dates in your relationship in chronological order.

For mine, I included:

Date we first started talking on Skype

Date we were "official"

Date I went to see him

Date I went home

Date he proposed

Date I accepted (hehehe... I had to get over the shock and seriously think about making this bi-continental relationship a permanent thing)

Second visit

Marriage

Date I went home

NOA1 Date, Marking the beginning of our Visa Journey and the point where they should have some sort of records of their own

What you guys include is up to you. I left out most of the sentimental stuff but included notes like when I met important people in his life, like his mom and brother, or when we followed a certain custom, like him talking to my "mom" about the dowry or taking me to bow at his mom's feet as a show of respect. (Gag all you like  I had a good time.)

When I was reading all the bolded parts, I was thinking how sweet it was that you two are not just combining your lives, but cultures, as well. (if that makes sense :hehe: )

Chintu, CONGRATULATIONS!!!   And... 2000 people at your wedding?! Whoa!

Vivek (and the whole May crew), thank you for sticking around to see us through. It means a lot.

Married, I was worried readers would gag more than think it's sweet. Thank you, though. I definitely have had a lot of fun learning his traditions. Now if only I can get him to adhere to the one where the husband works like crazy to make the money and then turns it all over to the wife. I'll pay the bills, honey. I swear! :innocent:

Happy, welcome to the groups and congratulations on your interview. I hope it goes well. I don't know if we can help you about the 10 year ban, but we can be your moral support.
