Preparing for interviews? Preparing to relax?

I checked our little countdown and it's 10 days until our interview. It made my heart skip a few beats. I think I'm going to the river today to clear my fears.

I checked our little countdown and it's 10 days until our interview. It made my heart skip a few beats. I think I'm going to the river today to clear my fears.

oh yes, here and preparing. my wife's done with printing all the paperwork, AND i've also sent paperwork thru my parents who left to India a couple of days ago. she's taking care of some last minute affidavits, but we're in full scale interview prep mode. in the meantime, i have to go camp out at the indian embassy here in NY to get my indian visa stuff sorted out...it would take too long to explain, but basically i have to go pass these a-holes more money to go...on top of this, i'm tracking the british airways strike and make sure i'll be able to fly on the 7th and bring my wife back on the 18th...so ya LOTS of stuff going on!

not to mention i still have to set things up in my apartment for my wife; have to buy a armoire, vaccuum cleaner etc etc...it NEVER ends!

04-29-2010: INTERVIEW ASSIGNED FOR JUNE 10TH IN CHENNAI CONSULATE, INDIA; 06-10-2010: INTERVIEW - VISA APPROVED!!!!!
06-18-2010: Entered US - NEW YORK CITY and 08-16-2010: GC received! (nearly 2 months after PoE) woo hoo!
AOS for permanent 10 yr green card:

04-02-2012: NOA of I-751 and 1 yr extension of temp green card

05-03-2012: Biometrics appointment

12-18-2012: 10 yr Green card approved; 12-22-2012: Green card rec'd

Hey good luck with your OCI part( hope you got it by today/friday).. About British Airways... yesterday they re-booked my cousin to Qatar Airways at the last minute.

I am also preparing my wife, the date is coming soon..(Hobo any info about Chenaai hotels?where to stay and stuff? ).. Hope all the JUNE interviews will end up with news :)

I e-mailed them ( din't give any specific reason, just a request for an earlier date, thats all.. they were so nice and moved my date )

well as for OCI, i find out tomorrow. lets hope i get it (i have a feeling i will); they just want money, that's all. my uncle also got hit by it too - 250 bucks...

i called up BA and confirmed thru their website - most all their fllights in and out of london heathrow are still running (i fly jfk to heathrow and then heathrow to chennai), so i think we'll be ok.

as for hotels, stay at the residency in chennai in T-nagar. do NOT stay at the seashell hotel near the embassy. it was horrible and my poor wife got a smelly, dungy room which she rejected right away. fortunately the residency had rooms. they also have buffet b'fast and apparently a really good buffet dinner according to my wife. a little pricey though; about 80-90 USD a nite, but you want a nice place b4 ur interview; not some crappy place you have to worry about. hope that helps...
