I just got the following in an email from the US Embassy:

Name/Case #/Interview Date here...

Please come in with your mother and bring your mother’s birth certificate issued by NSO.

*This is not your final visa interview.

Thank you.

I want to know if anyone has had the same emailed to them (Part in question is in red), and the steps/approximate time it took for them to finally acquire a visa.

Appreciate any and all help that I receive,

Thanks,

So why did you get an email from the japanese embassy? Do you need a police clearance from there or are you currently in japan and will do your final interview there? Seems kinda strange.
