Calling all PA/DE/MD/DC Yardies (and anyone else who'd like) I was thinking of trying to get a Yardie Link up in order sometime in August (not the last weekend because I will be in JA) and I'd like to do it in MD. Nothing fancy, just a meet up for lunch. Can anyone is MD recommend a good place for lunch, perferrably Carribean food. I just need a place. Im thinking saturday, August 14th.

Anyone down? Any suggestions?

I figure I'd start this since hubby and I have been actively meeting VJ Yardie members star_smile.gif

I'll be waiting.....

Hello Yardies!

I am new to this thread. I got my interview date finally! It will be on July 19. My hubbie will be coming down to support me at the interview. YEAH!! I saw him in May for 2wks when I went to visit but jeez July can't come soon enough. LOL

I am here trying to determine when to tender my resignation.

1) Can anyone tell me the timeframe in which you received your passport from DHL?

2) What is the process like at Mobay Hope for the medical? Is it an all day thing?

I really want to be ready to depart Jamaica early August but I don't want to burn bridges at work so I would prefer to give 2wks notice.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

Peace,

MaryLan

Hey MaryLan!!

Congrats on getting Interview date!!

My Hubby's medical took all day! I would just take the day off so your not rushing.

I agree with sugarapple wait until you actually have the visa in your hand before you turn in your resignation. Typically the visa delivery is between 5-7 business days BUT

as you become familiar with the thread you will find that that is not always the case. Lately, it seems to be taking longer than usual. Also, your visa will be good for six months so you have until then before you have to enter the U.S.A. Many Blessings on your journey....

Morning all!!

Had a busyish weekend....did a sweet sixteen birthday part...boy was that an eye opener!

Kids ended up partying to 2am! And the music...wow!!

What was a shock for me was after tagging the photos and looking at their FB pages was all the cursing and swearing even on their INFO page!! And these are 15 and 16 year olds!!

Just wondering if the parents are oblivious or just don't care....

Went to a cookout on Sunday, was really nice!!

Morning All! Ughhh Monday :crying: We had a good weekend. Nothing major, just kicked back! Just waiting for something to move on this AOS...our case has not been touched since 5/26 :(

Welcome MaryLan and congratulations on your interview date! Definitely wait until Visa is in your hand before you make any plans. Also plan for the medical to take hours!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm really not surprise cause this generation of kids are different, and parents don't monitor their kids the way they ought to. Then again, so,e of these parents are kids themselves.

Both of the girls slept straight through the night..almost 8 hours i couldnt believe it. Kind of woke up in a panic tho...like are they ok?? They were both just laying in their crib smiling :)

we have not heard anything back since hubby had biometrics...and now his gc is expired. i checked the status online and it says it is in initial processing (that cant be right since he had biometrics already and biometrics come after initial processing)...#######? i hate dealing with this dumb stuff..

finesse...I am not sure but once you mail in your paperwork and get your receipt I heard that it extends his greencard for a year. I could be totally wrong though.

That's awesome that they slept through the night...hope there is more of that to come for you.

Good Morning Everyone,

I had a pretty quiet weekend. Very good friends of ours had their baby on Thursday so I spent a lot of Friday at the hospital with the Mom because her husband had to take their son to a basketball camp. Then I went and helped her again on Saturday morning while the hubby had to take the son to a soccer tournament. She got released from the hospital on Saturday so I went home and cooked them dinner so once Mikel got of work we could go over and take it to them. The baby is so sweet such a cute little girl. Yesterday I just chilled out at home while Mikel worked. I even cleaned out my dresser.
