Still waiting for the Oath Ceremony Date

Well, as of today it has been 4 weeks since the successful interview process for my two sons in Chicago. When we left the Immigration Officer told us that it would be 2-4 weeks before we got a letter about their oath ceremony date and that it would be scheduled closer to home in Rock Island.

After week 3 I was beginning to wonder where the letter was and panicking somewhat because we are planning on taking a trip to Canada for the month of June and wanted to get the boys passports before booking flights. I began looking around to see if there was a schedule of oath ceremonies in Rock Island, found a phone number at the court house where they are held and was told there would be ceremonies on the 16th of July and the 8th of October.

Now, I ask, am I to assume that the boys will be scheduled on one of these days or should I be cautious and just wait for the letter before booking flights? Is it possible they could be scheduled somewhere else? I suppose I am just venting because I have pretty much made up my mind that if I have not received any date before the end of this week I am just going to Canada! LOL....just wish they would do what THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO, WHEN THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT! We applied in Oct. 2009, based on things I have read here, I thought we would be over and done with everything by now....just goes to show you, each case is individual....Oct.23/09- possibly oath July 16th.....that's nine months....
