NVC Expedite approved - What Next?

NVC Expedite was approved for my son who is 6 months old. They just got my DS-230 this morning which has original Birth certificate. Does anyone know what happens now? Does the NVC send my file to the Consulate immediately or they wait for the DS-230 to be attached to it? I have already paid the fees, sent the AOS to NVC. The DS-230 and supporting documents were sent yesterday. I did an expedite over a week ago, it was approved last night.

NVC people give conflicting answers. Some say that we will send your file and then you give your paperwork to the consulate and some say they will wait for the paperwork. Can anyone help me so that I can be prepared? I only had one original BC which i sent to them.

which country? which consulate/embassy?

are you trying to attach this I-130 for son to an I-130 for wife?

at some point, the casefile at NVC will be tagged 'case complete' and then forwarded on to the embassy/consulate's IV unit.

For some countries, NVC sets the appointment. For others, the Consulate/Embassy sets the appointment. Hard to answer yer question exactly for 'what happens next' - no clue of country/embassy, sorry.

Country is Italy. Naples Consulate. By the time my wife's case got to the U.S Consulate for interview, I had become a U.S Citizen so my son was removed from the petition. Only she got the visa. My son is italian citizen but the consulate told me not to travel on Visa-waiver since he is an intending immigrant...

The consulate told me that to issue my son a visa, they would need an approved I-130. SO with the help of the senator's office, I got the I-130 approved end of March.

When I went to the consulate again in April, they said that they dont have the file and it needs to come from the NVC & only the approved I-130 is not enough..!

So I expedited with NVC and thats where i am at now. I just wanted to get some input as to what should I do now..I already sent the ds-230 to the NVC with the supporting docs.
