Hello all, we got an RFE for my husbands birth certificate. His birth certificate is a Sworn Affadavit of his birth and this is what you get when your orginal birth records are unvailable. Also his baptism records were burned as well so that was another option of birth certificate. However, the document that he submitted has always been declared his brith certificate and wasnt an issue when he went through the process at the embassy so we dont know why it is an issue now. There is no way he can get any other proof of his birth. Please advise what we need to do and is it possible that we can get the Senator involved? If so how do I do this? We are in Georgia. Thanks!

Provide your affidavit and a statement about the state of records in Nigeria. If you husband is old enough you could also include something about how the Biafrian war destroyed records in much of the country especially if he was born in the afflicted area.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
