Paperwork for Police Check

My fiance finally got in touch with Scotland Yard for his police check, but was told he had to fill out a form and then send it in before they would send him his report. They told him to take the completed form to his local police station in Manchester. I have never heard of this before and was wondering if it was normal procedure? Thanks -Jessica

Yes its normal. He has to fill in the paper work or mail it off to the with the required docs.

It'll be sent from Mancs. to Scotland Yard.

As far as I am aware that is the ONLY way that you can get a police check completed in the UK. Incase you were not already aware they have to return your completed check within 40 days. Most people wait almost the full 40 days for theirs to materialise.

If you are approaching a possible interview date make sure that your Fiance submits his application ASAP to avoid holding up the issuance of your visa.

Get your fiance to go to his local police station for the form then he must fill it in and go back to the police station with his passport and something with his address on it (as ID) along with £10 and they will send it off to Scotland Yard it does take the full 40 days to get it back (in some cases it is taking longer than the 40 days they say)

I have my police check back today , only took 20 days , but it said 'from the personal detail supplied in your request there is no information held about you in the person record category of police national computer ' what does it mean ?

Can one file for a police check before filing for the K-1 if that makes any sense?

I don't see what country you are applying from....but the UK police report is valid for a year once you recieve it....
