Hi guys,

Our sign in failed and just got off the phone with operator who confirmed that our case was complete. She said that in the first 2 weeks of May the NVC will schedule the interview for the first week of June. Will it really take that long? Asking because as you guys know the AVR always estimates "6-8 weeks" for processing documents and it always takes 8-11 days.

Do I just await the interview/medical exam email or keep calling and asking if they've scheduled the interview?

Also she said that it'll be the first week of June. We have two plane tickets May 29. Obviously we are able to change these, the only problem is that starting June 1st the tickets go up A LOT. At this point what are a few more bucks, but still...it'd be nice to avoid paying more. Could I call the embassy and try to expedite it? ALSO: my grandfather just had this surgery on his sciatic nerve and we need to be there to help him. Would this be a good excuse? Should I talk to embassy or NVC??

THANKS GUYS!!!

  Considering that the poor souls waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate have a 3-4 month wait, mid-May is not that far away.

Typically interviews for the following month are set by the second week of the prior month. Since your case was just completed you might expect your interview to be scheduled mid-May for a June appointment depending on how busy your particular consulate/embassy is.

They will send you an email but there is no harm in calling as well.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather but I don't think that will be enough to expedite an interview date.

Here's the part we've all been waiting for. Your sign in fails! What happens AFTER you get a SIGN IN FAILED?

Check the AVR/confirm with an operator that your case has indeed completed processing at NVC.

CR-1 interviews are scheduled by NVC. The interview letter will be e-mailed to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

You can track the DHL packages sent out from Portsmouth, NH to your consulate.

Keep bugging NVC till they assign your date. Not too much, though.

You can check the US Consulate's website for updates on interviews. Most consulate's have an interview schedule updated bi-weekly.

You can also call your consulate for regular updates on how busy the consulate is that month.

Get your medical out of the way. The medical is country specific, so check out your regional forums.

Usually, you need 2-3 photographs, passport, interview letter, and your medical records but I'm sure requirements differ.

And also, many congratulations on your SIF!! Did I call it or what?

i know geez! the poor canadians having to wait i mean. there is such a low rate of argentine immigration that they process this stuff pretty quickly. (i hope!)

yeah thanks, he's ok, just is in pain which makes everyday stuff difficult. he'll be good soon.

i'll try calling and just checking email like a mad(wo)man.

thanks!
