When did a country start caring what illegal aliens want? Your mother country certainly does not, as does no other first world country.

Nevertheless, your tone right there illustrates why you are against any measures. It's clear that to you, them being here is not a big deal. I should have know when you said you had no qualms with thousands of Polish workers flooding the UK market.

How to completely misunderstand a post. BY, it doesn't matter what they want. What matters is what they do. What they do is find employment and stay out of the eyes of the authorities. The authorities have no power to arrest people unless they draw attention to themselves. Simply looking hispanic, or asian, or 'foreign' isn't enough.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Poland is part of the EU. You do know there is a EU treaty that allows EU citizens to work in any country in the Union, don't you?

The Poles are not "illegal immigrants".

you haven't been paying attention have you?

I have been told that this law is to be applied in a non discriminatory fashion. If that's true, then what I said was correct. If this is not true, and the police can go around demanding papers of people for no good reason than they 'look foreign' then this law will not be on the books very long. It is indeed a political stunt. What I wonder is why you and people like you stand for that kind of manipulation of people's rights and freedoms just because you support the conservative line. It's unconscionable. The end is a good one, but the means is not.

You think the police in AZ are now able to knock on the doors of any home and demand papers? Go to any business and ask for papers? Set up road blocks and ask for papers and arrest anyone who doesn't produce them? I see...

Your perceptions are most welcome in this open forum.

However, don't force them on your friends.

The girl who cried "wolf" is likely to eat her words.

I don't think any of the things you have listed above

and I can't imagine why you think like that.

The police don't need to have a "campaign" as you would imply to ask for papers.

Asking for papers should be a normal part of their job in daily interactions not

related to immigration status.

When 1 in 25 people in the entire nation is an "illegal" (based on current population with 12 million illegals) it actually just might be enough now that I actually look at that figure... At some point, you have to stand up and say "what the **?" Especially when you break that down to 1 in 5 hispanics in this nation are illegal....

I very much doubt that a majority of police agree with you.

Really? So it's ok to treat legal citizens from ethnicity differently from all other ethnicities because you want to be able to say 'what the ####?' What is more, you want the police of AZ to be in cahoots with such discrimination? How far can that go? How many times can a legal citizen be inconvenienced simply because you're fed up?

1 in 5 are good odds that someone of hispanic descent that pick out will be an illegal.... 20% of a certain demographic is damn high.

That is definitely a huge part of it. The second part is that they erroneously believe the entire world could and should setup in the country; well as long as it doesn't impact their livelihood. Otherwise then we have the Seattle style protests.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Do you think the police should be officially allowed to use probability to determine if a particular person is up to no good?

Not probability alone.

Look at it like this. 20% of hispanics are illegal.

You use reasonable elimination to not question everyone though:

-Person has a proper ID that checks out: OK

-Person has proof of insurance: OK

-Personal speaks fluent English: OK

Use a litmus test of course, but always be somewhat suspicious. 1 in 5 are damn good odds in a population sense.

More than 1 in 5. The figures I posted in this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/253705-arizonans-and-the-nation-torn-on-immigration-bill/page__view__findpost__p__3901082 are straight form the DoHS. Over 62% of IA are from Mexico - close to 3/5. The same Mexico that makes up 1.7% of the world's population.

Close to 80% are Latin American - 4/5.

I'm saying "1 in 5" of hispanics in the country are illegal. Not total illegals.
