Within the borders of their state, they can require you to carry whatever form of ID they deem necessary.

No, they cannot. They are obligated to accept the ID which the state that I reside in issues. Full faith and credit to the records of the other states. The Constitution demands that.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Unfortunately like a cancer, it has been allowed to grow to such a large problem that there is simply no other way.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

ok we're checking the dog family off the havasu vacation plans too.

read my responces to this law in this thread. pay very close attention to parts where is said it likely won't ever be implemented...ok. ;)

Passing a law that will never be implemented is really nothing but political grandstanding. Is that what you accuse the AZ government of?

It's sure as hell better than doing nothing.

I'm still trying to figure out how this law could not be implemented.

There's nothing wrong with the law. Read the bill.

Everything is in accordance with Federal regulation and at the same time involves verification with federal agencies...

These guys so-called outrage is based on horeshit idealism. They realistically have no valid argument against these laws apart from possibly being inconvenienced. They don't even know half the story and assume a state simply enacted a law, without thinking it through, or how they will accurately verify peoples ID.

Right on brother..

It's the same situation with the thread regarding Chicago's 2010 murder rate being worse than that of a war zone (Baghdad). Yet any proactive law enforcement is always met with racism allegations, being unconstitutional and a whole barrage of other pointless bullcrap. All while Americans continue to lay in gutters - as in dead.

Evidently a person being inconvenienced has become more important that a community's right to live free of crime.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. If anything at all, as a USC you'd carry a state issued ID because there's no requirement to carry any ID beyond that when moving about the US. So you're objecting to carrying anything beyond what's required by federal law as a resident but sit there and critizice citizens of this nation objecting to a documentary burden beyond any requirement on the books. Nice double standard there.

I get that citizens are not required to carry any ID under law. My point is: what if this law changes and you ARE required to carry a state-issued ID? What is the big deal? You already carry a D/L, you just carry your state ID along with it which will clearly state your citizenship status. Or if they start listing your status on the D/L. Choose whichever one you like.

Or is your objection to the law changing at ALL? That as USCs you don't want or feel like you shouldn't have to prove your status?

I did. And I posted the section that concerns me right here in this thread.

You mean the snippet of the bill.

Bingo! Certain states in the United States already offer enhanced drivers licenses, which can be used to verify status.

For example:

NYS now issues a WHTI-Compliant Enhanced driver licenses (EDL) (includes Enhanced learner permits) and Enhanced non-driver photo ID cards (ENDID) to applicants who can prove U.S. citizenship and NYS residency. An EDL or ENDID can be used instead of a passport to return to the U.S. from Canada, Mexico and some countries in the Caribbean.

Implementing this across the union would negate any confusion or possibility of discrimination. For the rest, they need to carry their ID anyway. Rather than being just another we should do it, this enhanced DL is currently being used by: Washington, New York, Michigan, Vermont. It's a simple upgrade to every state ID and state drivers license but ensure all who apply have been properly verified.
