Thats a staw mans argument. Do you really think that a Canadian immigrant would be stopped on the street and asked to see their identification? This law is a thinly veiled law directed at one group of people and will have an impact on both the non-citizens it is directed at as well as citizens.

Well, no. But then again, more than 50% of all illegal aliens in the U.S. are NOT Canadians, the last time I checked.

*sighs* again w/ the same old tired straw man argument.

again, please point out where the law states that officers will be stopping john q public walking down the street & shaking him down.

The fact remains, the law does not dictate this. You can argue til your blue in the face that this is easy to do, but that doesn't change the fact of the matter, citizens are not required to carry ID.

Well, laws change. USCs, prior to this, didn't have to carry an ID. Now they do. Is it unfair to the legal Hispanic/USC--yes, it is. But due to the current situation in Arizona with illegal immigrants/immigration, now ALL USCs have to be inconvenienced as well and carry around their ID.

Laws are a product of their time and place. They do not simply exist in a vacuum.

LoL, are you sure you know what a straw mans argument is? Because you're doing it again.

The law does not state that officers will be stopping people walking down the street, but it does give them the authority to do it. It's called "reasonable suspicion".

Wrong, despite this law, citizens are still not legally compelled to carry ID, only to identify themselves if asked by law enforcement.

The law is moot anyway as the state does not have the right to usurp immigration enforcement jurisdiction anyways.
