I don't know what's more disgusting. The calls for violent murder, or the arbitrary suppression of speech. Both are so thoroughly un-American it makes me nauseous to see them here day-in and day-out.

As a clarification - it wasn't the word Lesbian that led to that comment being removed - it was a very derogatory slur used instead of Lesbian that led to its removal.

Good call.

No one was calling for slaughter.

One was calling for execution of repeat offenders and for those crossing attempting to break-in to be shot on sight.

That's hardly what I call slaughter. You want to see slaughter, see putting people on trains and stacking them up in factories. THAT was slaughter.

I have yet to see anyone making a compelling argument as to how immigration (legal or illegal) has a detrimental effect on our economy, except perhaps by helping to keep wages lower for unskilled labor.

Did you mean here on VJ, or any of the publications by the Think Tanks in the USA, or some other citable source?

If only VJ, well, hey - this ain't the end-all, be-all source o stuff, ya know.

If 'the other' - well, maybe the reports were too long winded or perhaps the charts and graphs were not compelling enough TO YOU, personally.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
