I was reading the DS-156 form today and I have some questions I'm hoping someone can offer guidance with.

1. Have you ever been denied a visa?

I mentioned before about having a conditional entry in my passport. Here is the <expanded> story to that: I was working on a TN visa in the US. My Daughter spends half her time with me down there and half her time with her father up here in Canada. So, I bought a return ticket (from ATL to Canada to pick her up) in April or May of 2009, to travel mid July 2009. In early July 2009, I lost my job. I still flew home to get my daughter and when I went to go back to ATL, I told the customs agent I was no longer TN status. They pulled us to the customs office and grilled me. They told me not to talk unless they asked questions. I explained that at the time of my job loss I was put on "furlough" and they didn't know what that was. (Lay off with a call back option when the economy picks up) They took my TN and after asking more questions (and me explaining truthfully that I wanted to go back and wrap stuff up- we knew at that time i would be coming back to Canada to file for the K1) they took the TN out of my passport and stamped it with a controlled entry. My daughter and I were both given the all clear to go to ATL for one month to wrap things up and then return by September 01. I did exactly as I said I would do- I went back to my apartment (that I shared with my fiance) and we packed it up and he put it in storage and I returned to Canada. So, that being the entire incident, does that mean I was denied a visa because they took it away? I didn't technically *apply* for a TN, I never asked them for my daughter to have a TD, I just asked them to let us be in the US to do stuff. Does this mean they denied the B Visa? (Visitor?) .... :help:

2. All of that being explained, I was issued a grand total of 3 TN Visas. I have the date for the first one and the last one but I've misplaced the document for the second one. Does the date have to be exact? Is there a source I can contact to get the exact dates on record? Will they flag me if the dates are off?

I'm probably over thinking all this #######. :wacko: .. but I'd rather be prepared then not.

Thanks =)

If no visa was applied for, no visa was denied. You entered using the Canadian visitor privilege. B visas cannot be applied for and issued at a POE.
