Hello there!

Next Friday I have my K1 visa interview at the London embassy (yay!) and im just going through all my documents making sure i have everything, I got some checklist off one of the threads (i think it was the 2009 interview thread) and at the bottom of the list it has:

~Backup

DS-230 Part 1 (PDF)

IV-15 & Checklist

Form DS-156

Form DS-157

Form DS-156-K

Now the embassy has copies of these because i had to send them (packet 3?) but in all the commotion (me leaving it till last minute and rushing to fill them in and get them printed) didn't realise to print extra copies (because im an idiot!!!). Will this matter that i dont have copies in my folder to take with me or will it be ok because they will have the documents in hand?

Ive been driving myself crazy since i realised what i done and seeing this checklist today has just made me paranoid even more!!!

Any help would be great

Thanks,

Jmr

P.s. the checklist is just one a member of VJ has made themselves (i think).

It's not required to bring copies. The reason it's not a bad idea to have them.....well read this excerpt from Vanessa's (Ricky+Vanessa) interview write-up which was on Monday I think.

They started calling the ‘N’ numbers first at probably just before 8. About 10 mins in I’m called to window 14. Lovely lady spoke with me. They had my file. I could see my daughter’s medical and my medical docs and underneath was the K-1 pack that Ricky had sent in. I was then informed that they didn’t know where the papers were that I sent in with the IV checklist (charming!). Luckily, I had copies of EVERYTHING with me including all the DS forms etc. Gave her what I had she took it and made copies for their files.

99% of the time it won't be a problem, but they did misplace Vanessa's paperwork. Not to say they wouldn't find it quickly, but she just pulled out new copies and got on with the interview.

I've read lots of reviews and this only appears to have happened to me to my knowledge  Having said that she did also say "we will have to go look for them"..she asked if I had copies (think she looked at my massive file) which I did and we got on with it.

Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure my papers are somewhere as I don't think I would have got an interview if someone hadn't at least looked at them.....

I just remembered that Knightsbridge also lost my blood after my medical. I only found out when I, by chance, had to go back to get my daughter's flu shot and they sheepishly asked to do it again. So don't worry..it appears to be the kind of luck I have! :)

They lost my husband's divorce decree.

Luckily I had a spare! That would have been a request for evidence if I didn't have it.

Dont panic, just make copies of all you can!

ooooooo good luck!

It's $131 for the actual visa. If you pay in £'s you pay whatever it is according to the exchange rate on that date. Worked out to be £85 for me. And then you pay the courier fee which is £14.50..you can pay various amounts of top if you need it delivered before a specific time of day.
