  1. 1. What should I include with my I-134 as supporting evidence?

    • Recent Pay stubs and employment verification letter
    • Everything in choice 1 + tax return
    • Everything in choice 2 + tax return + Bank account statement

Hi guys,

I would really appreciate if you could look at the checklist for the supporting documents that I need to submit with I-134

(1) Paystubs for the last 2 pay periods (my income levels exceeds 125% of poverty line)

(2) Letter from the employer

(3) 3 years tax transcripts (they dont really help as I was a student, should I include them?)

In most cases, pay stubs and three tax returns are a good idea. What is ideal is both country and case specific though.

Is one year tax transcript enough for evidence? Cause some say you need 3 then some say 1 is enough?

We first met online 2004, but things started to get serious in Dec 2007. Made my first visit to the USA in march 2008 for 2 weeks. Then returned again in Aug 2008 for 3 months.. Then i came back to the UK for 5 months to return back to the USA April 2009 for another 3months.

But my tax returns wont really help as during 2006-09 i was a student and hardly make anything close to $20k

so should I still include them?

Yes, the tax returns show some employment history and sense of responsibility. I would include them.

Additionally, I think you should try to copy about 6 months of pay stubs rather than 2 periods only. I guess you can include the employer's letter. It won't hurt.

This is a good topic.

Our interview will probably be in June and I planned on including my 2008 & 2009 tax returns but after seeing this thread will add my 2007 returns and W2s as well.

I'm also including

Employment Verification Letter

6 Months of Pay Statements

1 Year of Bank Statements.

This may be overkill, but I'm traveling to attend the meeting and want to put my best foot forward to get approved.

We used the guidelines from the I-864 to help compelte the I-134, as it has been suggested the embassy will use those criteria to assess the financial support factor. The I-864 states that only the previous years' return is required, however you may submit upto 3 years returns if you think they will help your case.

We're submitting last years return, employer letter and 6 months pay stubs for Simone (she only graduated & started work last year), plus 3 years returns and 6 months pay stubs for our co-sponsor.
