What do you think? We are doing DCF in Frankfurt, Germany and have the following arguments (and evidence) for my domicile being the States, as required in order to file form I-864! Is this convincing enough?? How "strict" are they in Frankfurt?

Thanks so much!!!

Evidence of my continued ties to the United States are as follows:

+ I voted in the United States general election in 2004, and have requested an

absentee ballot for 2006 (copies of voter registration card and absent voter

ballot application enclosed)

+ I have maintained a bank account in the United States (copy of recent bank

statement enclosed)

+ I have renewed my driver’s licence in Michigan (copy of current licence and

expired licence)

+ I have a permanent mailing address in the United States (see drivers licence

and bank statement)

+ I have strong immediate family ties in the United States.

It's a non-issue in Frankfurt.

Just provide a U.S. mailing address.

In my experience, voter registration materials were not necessary. Bank account information was not necessary save for the fact that I needed it anyway to show my assets. Besides having a bank account in a certain country doesn't prove residency or domicile.

Driver's license wasn't requested at all.

Family ties to the U.S. are not, in and of itself, necessary either.

Don't go providing too much information or they'll think you're a resident in United States instead of Germany. Remember that being a resident of Germany is required in order to file directly at the Consulate. Make sure you provide that information!
