My wife and I have submitted our AOS Package and we have received an e-mail back. The e-mail states that the police certificate (South Korea) is not an original or certified copy. However, the document is the original copy! What should we do about this (we no longer have the original copy). Thanks.

Call NVC on Monday. Ask to speak with a Supervisor. Explain your situation to the Supervisor and ask them to personally review the PCC.

Hello Everyone! Looks like another month we all wish would fly by so we can all get that visa and reunite with our beloved spouse. I have about 3 more weeks of teaching to go then I fly out to Egypt to spend 10 weeks with my husband in Egypt and hopefully he will be able to return with me. Good luck to everyone and I wish you the best!

An immigrant visa interview has been scheduled for the applicant at the U.S.

Embassy/Consulate in BANGKOK on June 8, 2010 at 07:00 am.

YEAH!!!!!! I knew Friday would be our day!

Husby's super excited. He's trying to hide it by complaining that he'll have to get someone to cover for him in court that day.

Hello people. Just thought I'd write this - SYDNEY CONSULATE ROCKS. Received my interview date. It is June 1st!!

The universe is listening. We are hoping if my visa is approved that I would leave here in July. So, the timing's perfect because I have to give 4 weeks notice at work.

so i'm putting my ds-230 together...

it asks for birth certificate...

what i need to ask is, i was born under a different name and my mum (petitioner) changed it by deed poll, do I include the certified copy of the name change as well as the birth certificate?

I can't see anywhere that it says to include it?

Yes, you do. The DS-230 asks for all names so you would include your birth name and your current name. Does your BC actually have the annotation that the new name was registered? Or is it your original BC that was never amended? I know if you request it, BDM will actually issue the BC in either the new name or a BC that has your birth name with the registered name on it as well. Depends on the option your mother chose when she changed your name.

Confused yet? Either way - yes, you include to show the legal name if the BC you have does not show it ...

The BC is obviously in my birth name... however, it has a little box under my parents names etc that says "14. Name and Surname of child if there has been any addition or alteration after registration of birth." of which my current name is.

I have the deed poll, but the BC has both names on it anyway. I guess I'll just send both... Is there such thing as sending too much information to NVC? lol

I guess I should've also mentioned that its not an original BC its a Certified Copy (dated 1985 no less )
