My SIF is stuck behind some "supervisor" rock... waiting for it to pour through the floodgates!

Congrats!! NVC finally got the ball moving on everyone's cases after the slowdown. I'm so relieved as I know that everyone else must be who got a SIF...thank god no RFE for anything!

Congrats once again to everyone who got a SIF/CC and interview appointment!

Let's hope we get the interview dates soon too!

Interestingly, New Delhi consulate hasn't published a June list yet but realistically we should get a July date.

Thank You All :) I didn't think we would get a date until June, but I am happy that we got the date early. I don't think I could have done all the paper work without the help of everyone on this forums. So I want to thank everyone who has helped me through this crazy process. I hope I can help others as well so I will be sticking around here. Its a relief in one way to get the date, but now to prepare to send documents to the wife for the interview. She was freaking out before the interview date, now she will freak out more :rofl: Well just a little over a month and I will be with my wife again :star:

Sometimes all this waiting makes me think immigration and the government tests us to see if our relationships can survive all this!

If I don't see LIF/SIF today, I'll be calling NVC and explaining exactly which vulgar act will be performed on their eye socket should they continue to not find a reason to make haste.

I'm sorry my "NVC sucks" homie. I think everyone else is in the NVC is wonderful stage now that they've gotten SIF's! Congrats to all of you by the way!

As I try to prepare for the interview while we wait for a date, I have a situation that I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with here.

I know we need to show some kind of joint financial situations, but we have not been able to do this. We tried a couple of banks in Jordan (including HSBC) but they would not let me open an account because I was not a citizen. And of course, I can't do anything here in the US because he doesn't have a SSN. My bank DID let me list him as the beneficiary on my account and I have proof of this.

I am concerned that we need more than this and he isn't eligible for any extended benefits on his job yet, so he can't do anything there for a few more months.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how we might do something more?

Ally, did you file joint taxes? That is the only thing that we have, no bank accounts, our house is even in my name because of the difficulty in having him on there without actually being here. So, I'm hoping that the tax returns will suffice.

I'm super busy here at work. Hope to hear more good news in the days to come. I will be departing for Egypt next Tuesday, haven't had time to get excited about that yet.
