NVC May 2010 Edition!

PLEASE NOTE--On your DS230, make sure you insert any and all dates as 02-20-2010.

And NOT 02/20/2010.

For some reason NVC has lost it's mind and is issuing RFEs for the date format.

The actual example they give you says mm-dd-yyyy...

It only makes sense to use hyphens

Q on I864?

I am preparing my affidavit support form I-864 on question "Sponsor's Household Size" 21, on 21c if your marriade enter "1" But, I am petitioning for my wife so do I leave it blank or zero, and my baby is with my wife on 21d do I enter "1"? Or leave it blank I did not include my baby on my 2009 tax return no SSN at that time . Yes of course my baby is common with my wife which is our baby a us citizen.

Your household size is 3.

You--1.

Intending immigrant--1.

The child--1.

You will put 0 for married because your spouse IS the intending immigrant and it tells you in big black bold letters NOT to count anyone twice.

Your child is a USC, therefore, he is NOT immigrating. He is simply going home. He is counted as part of your household size, however.

Regarding the AOS package:

First thing, I would recommend is that you print out the I-864 form and read the instructions about 2 times. Mark out the relevant portions and ask any questions you might have after that. I would suggest you read the guides for a comprehensive idea about how the AOS packet will comprise.

Recommended AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2009 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2008 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

Remember, the USC petitioner will file a I-864 regardless of income. If your joint sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, then they will use I-864A. If they live in a separate residence, then they will fill in another I-864.

For your joint sponsor you will need proof of their citizenship/residency. For household member, you will need proof of relationship and same household/residence.

--Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (Beneficiary's full name, and date of birth are written on back of both).

Looking at the cover sheets, they are slightly different from the original IV Bill Cover Page to the Checklist Coverpage.

I would send both with the RFE checklist cover sheet on top. You never know, might be reviewed quicker.

I believe its about the same or even more. I was hoping for my wife to get June interview (still praying for that). We shall see it seems. Hope we get interview dates soon
