According to the NVC standard operating procedures, which I've posted in the April NVC forum, they ask for a document up to 3 times, and then will concede, push the case through, and ask that you bring the required information to the consulate at the time of the interview - this doesn't seem set in stone however...and according to an NVC operator, it's usually done for cases that have been waiting for 6 months or more for the proper information to be received @ NVC. I asked because we were having problems getting Ian's divorce decree to the US due to the volcano. When I have more time (going to work now), I'll locate those SOP's & post them up here for anyone who'd like to see NVC's procedures.

Hey Jaxson ...in a Dominican Forum I have seen different cases for the dominican embassy and the category of Aneudy... The most quick one was a person that complete case in December and around March his interview was set for May...so according to that timeline Aneudy interview should be in August...but it looks that there is not a lot of approvals at the embassy because my interview according to the timelines was supposed to be for July and they gave me June...and a lot of person that complete case in Last week of april also got June interview wich is weird because normally the wait is between 2-4 monts for preference category..so I have a great feeling that Aneudy will receive his interview date in this mont of May..around the 20th and it will be a July interview

We got a scanned copy of the police certificate from Maldives today, the lady said maybe she'll send the real one today (hahaha) still awaiting birth cert and UK PCC!!!!

As for myself, no SIF or CC. On monday, AVR said I had some missing/incomplete document. I called and learned that they wanted the original marriage certificate that the embassy had stamped with their seal. My husband sent his original copy of the marriage certificate from Egypt and it didn't have the embassy stamp with the gold coil binding. I will simply overnight that today and hope for a CC soon.

I've been super busy lately, hardly any time to keep up with VJ readings, but it sounds like some of you have made progress. I wish you all the very best!

I'm new. I hope you don't mind if I join you.

I got SIF on April 23--but still no official "case complete"!! I'm getting stressed and depressed.

I talked to a supervisor at NVC, and she assured me that nothing is wrong. The notes on my case say that all documents are in order and no RFEs have been issued. She said this delay ("final review") is just normal...but I don't believe her! It seems that all of you get CC 1-3 days after SIF.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Sometimes that happens. Keep calling and checking on the review status. Don't let it get stuck in the cracks.

I think I'm going crazy...I'm checking my e-mail like hourly wanting to see the interview e-mail....this whole waiting process really drains me mentally...

But happy to hear all the SIF/interview approved here on VJ. I don't know what I'd do with this whole immigration think without this forum....

Does anyone have any idea, approximately how long it takes from the time that NVC receives the docs to the time that they input it in the system? The DS-230 packet were received by NVC on May 4 (I sent it express mail). I keep calling NVC and the operators keep tellling me that they have not received the docs as of yet. I'm a bit worried, seeing that everyone else's timeline shows that everything was inputted rather quickly. It's so frustrating, all this waiting! Anyway, what is the normal time frame for NVC to receive the docs in the AVR? What is the time frame from receiving the docs to case complete? Is it just the month of a May that NVC is taking too long on? Thanks.

They should be added soon. Perhaps later tonight or tomorrow. It's not comforting, but one of our members (Gina, I think?) had to wait 2 weeks before her docs were input.

As for time to SIF/CC, it's 8 to 11 business days from the day they received your package (as confirmed by the post office, not the AVR).

Anybody encountering a "database error" in the Sign in Portal? I think its just a cruel joke on me because of course it isn't a SIF but it isn't showing me anything either! bad, bad NVC!

Nope, I'm still able to sign in without any problems... unfortunately.

I would almost welcome a random error at this point just to see something different.
