NVC May 2010 Edition!

Congrats Alley! :dance: It's about time. :thumbs:

As for myself, no SIF or CC. On monday, AVR said I had some missing/incomplete document. :unsure: I called and learned that they wanted the original marriage certificate that the embassy had stamped with their seal. My husband sent his original copy of the marriage certificate from Egypt and it didn't have the embassy stamp with the gold coil binding. I will simply overnight that today and hope for a CC soon.

I've been super busy lately, hardly any time to keep up with VJ readings, but it sounds like some of you have made progress. I wish you all the very best! :)

May 28 - Case Complete per AVR

July 15 - Interview Date, Cairo APPROVED!!

May 26 - August 2: In Egypt with my sweet husband Mohammed :D

Apr. 01 - NOA2 Approval(email/txt msg @ 1am)

Your I-130 was approved in 63 days from your NOA1 date.

Dec. 20 2009 - Married in Cairo, Egypt.

7/14/10 - After many calls interview rescheduled

7/13/10 - Husband mugged on way to interview, still waiting for new passport.

August 2010 - He got the new passport, but I moved to Italy - after trying to maintain overseas marriage, my life in the states was worth leaving

2/24/11 - Long story, now we both live in New Zealand :) (no greencard, hoping to transfer the case down under)

That's about the same as our RFE. I sent a translation of the marriage contract and copy of the original because I didn't know they even HAD to have it... I just sent it as a sort of proof.

I had to send the original I had here. Praying I get it back in good shape!

I called NVC and the operator told me it was CC and that we did have a chance at an interview date this week!

If we don't get it this week, it's ok with me... just happy to be CC!

Anyone have any thoughts?

I am definitely not the expert here... but I got my SIF this morning and called the operator and had the official CC form her today too.

This has happened to a couple of VJ members. The official CC took 8 days from SIF. It's rare but does happen sometimes.

Thank you so much to everyone here for all your support.

This has been a long trying process.

At this point, I don't care when we get the interview date... there are advantages to June or July. So I am ok with whatever happens.

I am just so happy to know NVC isn't asking for anything else from us!

I am off to work, but will check in tonight to see who else gets good news today!
