Wow. Thank you very much for this information! I've been doing some reading on this website, and it seems that some people were successful at getting their certificates promptly, while others had to wait quite a bit for them.

I just talked to another NVC operator who told me that they will require her certificate.

Is it true that NVC can only send two checklists? I've seen this information in several posts on visajourney.com, but there was one person who got 4 RFEs! I already got 1 and am expecting another one (long story). If we get another RFE, after the case is sent to Bucharest, we would have more time to get the certificate.

I hope your case is one of those processed quickly.

As for the RFE checklists, I'm not certain. Being limited to 2 just seems odd, though. Like here you got an RFE for Italy and Romania. But if you only sent in the PCC from Italy, I would think you would get another RFE for the Romanian one, too. The case won't get send to the embassy without the PCCs, though. I can tell you that much. You won't get a case complete without them or without a document saying they are unobtainable.

For your other RFE, good luck as well. I assume since you're expecting it that you're doing what you can to gather the additional documents. You might be surprised and not even receive the second RFE, though. Hopefully.

Thanks, The Bears. I sent them the Romanian one. I found some information about getting certificates from Italy on the same day. I just need to get a family friend/broker to request them. This shouldn't take too long. Thanks again for all your feedback.

Quick question,

Hubby is filling out a new DS230 form & his address does not fit if he wore to type it (you can't make the font smaller in the free version of Adobe). Can he write it by hand & also attach a seperate paper with the question number & the address typed out (just in case they don't understand his writting)?

DS is to be submitted to VFS not NVC.

Tokio.lovers, what's a SIF?

And I noticed that the medical was $400. Is that typical for Japan or did the exam also include some vaccinations?

Thanks.

SIF = Sign In Failure

And Tokyo is the most expensive city in the world, so the medical is much more expensive than other countries. our $400 included 2 vacs. it would be more depending on how many vacs you get. also there are more clinics where you can get it done, but that one was the fastest. i am not sure what the others cost. it was probably the same or more though.

if your beneficiary isn't japanese and not living in tokyo, you can expect the medical to probably be less than $100. based on what i have seen other people post!

so i would not worry about that otherwise! :star:

Oh we called here...got told "Your case was put in the que at the consulate to be scheduled. We cannot guarentee that you will get an interview date. It all depends on the consulate."

lol

I called and spoke with an NVC operator tonight and got a few questions answered. They did confirm that for those of us that have case completes in April there is still the possibility to have a June interview. She said the consulates give NVC their montly schedule and NVC works with that. NVC schedules in the first few weeks of each month so they will be scheduling June interviews up to about May 15th. If those dates pass the people arent contacted for a June interview, then we wait for the first two weeks in June for NVC to schedule for July. She did answer my question, that was previously unanswered, which relates to whether NVC would schedule someone for a July interview in May, if June was full. Nope. :reading:

So yes it all comes down to each consulate and their respective backlog. She also said that they would be scheduling by order of case completes. I wonder about that somewhat; not that I don't believe them, but frankly, I don't believe them lol - I've been hearing that since I filed the I 130 and clearly there were people that filed after us, that beat us to NOA2 etc, so I just wonder if, in fact, NVC is scheduling in order of case completes - maybe they are. :ranting:

We're all so very close we can touch it. So, in a nutshell, June is still a possibility for us Apr folks - and if we miss that bus, there's another one on the way. Either way, we are getting greend cards and moving to the USA and starting our lives with our wives and husbands and that's all there is to it man. :protest:

He's an unmarried son case (F1, I think it is) and in the Dominican Republic, which is backed up according to Julissa. But! I've got a feeling! *singing* This is going to be a good good week!

*cough*cough* bullchit *cough*cough* While that may be the idea, you can check the Apirl thread and see that it's not true. My case alone, others had May interview dates scheduled during the Second Week even though the CC'd after me while I waited until the end of the month for a June date. No hard feelings. Husby interviewing in May but POE in September/October might look like we're pushing the 6 month limit on the visa. Interview in June, then it doesn't (potentially) look so bad. So our case worked out well for our purposes. I'm just saying NVC is spouting their script of bullchit.

Good luck, you guys! Now to find someone else interviewing in Bangkok on the same day Husby is....

$260 appt

$100 for Xray

$75 for blood test

+ $$$ if any vaccinations needed

$25 for postage if you can't pick up (which I won't because parking is expensive in the city too and I'm not taking the time off work)
