Sachinky, I just called NVC they ask me for both DOB and E-mail and phone numbers. Yes, they did update our E-mail address... which is cool

Wait till they email you the AOS/DS3032 link. It'll take a day or two.

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

I’m so happy and upset at the same time today.

My IV fee got paid today – Yeah

All the docs from my wife for DS-230 came in today – Yeah

My wife forgot to include the passport size photo…D’oh!!!!!!!!

Looks like I'll spend my weekend putting everything in my DS-230 together in preparation to send off once my police check comes back.

I'm guessing that if I'm sending originals of birth certs etc off, they'll get given back when I go to my interview etc?

Yea, they will. Original + 1 copy of your docs. Anyhoo ... I'm pulling up a deck chair in this thread. No interview date yet but me no care coz I am done with the NVC. Yay.

PLEASE NOTE--On your DS230, make sure you insert any and all dates as 02-20-2010.

And NOT 02/20/2010.

For some reason NVC has lost it's mind and is issuing RFEs for the date format.

Here's the part we've all been waiting for. Your sign in fails! What happens AFTER you get a SIGN IN FAILED?

Check the AVR/confirm with an operator that your case has indeed completed processing at NVC.

CR-1 interviews are scheduled by NVC. The interview letter will be e-mailed to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

You can track the DHL packages sent out from Portsmouth, NH to your consulate.

Keep bugging NVC till they assign your date. Not too much, though.

You can check the US Consulate's website for updates on interviews. Most consulate's have an interview schedule updated bi-weekly.

You can also call your consulate for regular updates on how busy the consulate is that month.

Get your medical out of the way. The medical is country specific, so check out your regional forums.

Usually, you need 2-3 photographs, passport, interview letter, and your medical records but I'm sure requirements differ.

Regarding interviews:

Generally interviews are scheduled during the second week of the month. While interviews are scheduled during the other weeks of the month as well--we received our appointment letter the last week of the month--those are usually for dates for the following month, not the next. For example, we received notice end of March for an interview in mid-May. Remember, some consulates do this. Not all.

NVC information, FYI:

The National Visa Center in New Hampshire is open from 7:30AM to midnight EST M-F.

Phone #: 603-334-0700.

The AVR updates daily at 3pm and 10pm EST. It is also rumored to update sometime in the morning, around 9-11AM EST.

Your SIF can technically happen anytime, but late afternoon/evening (6-8pm EST) seems to be a popular time for SIFs.
